  • Hi Guys!! I own Pulsar 150 UG4... Completed 7500 kms... I am planing to give my bike a boost by Fixing K&N airfilter... I heard that RC-1060 is good for 150cc bikes... The Question I have in my mind is whether the Stock airfilter box should be removed to fix the airfilter or It can be directly fixed inside the airfilter box... I request you all to please reply ASAP... thankyou...

you can fit it however you want. either in stock filter box or by removing it. i would suggest to keep it in box to save it from dust and dirt. if you want sound and more air for the filter keep the box cover open but you need to make some jugaad to lock the side panel.

        • Hey guys!
I am planning to buy a new Pulsar 150.

It's going to spend 75% of its time commuting in the city, but I want to do a few tours as well.
I've heard the bike is not comfortable and breaks your back if you are on the heavier side.
I have an average built and stand at 5'8". Do you think it will be comfortable for me?

          • One of the reasons that p150 is not considered for touring is that the seats that come from the factory are a bit hard when compared to other bikes in that segment. It just takes 130rs and 15 min to add a layer of cushion to make you feel more comfortable while touring.I am telling you by experience. I take my p150 out on long rides every now and then and haven't felt that i shouldn't be riding the following week.

I do not ride much on high ways neither i do tour but i can say tat it would be comfortable. Pulsar 150 does not have sporty riding position like RTR. I am 5.11feet height and i can ride in upright position. Yes seat is really hard but we have solutions. Ride it before deciding

                • Thanks guys!
It's mainly the riding posture that matters then, the seats should not be an issue.
                  I'll check it out.

My dad is pestering me to buy an Avenger 200 though...

U said u are going to use it 75% in city. If not pulsar then why dint u consider Unicorn or dazzler? It will give u better mileage compared to avenger and wont break ur back..

                      • Hi guys, I'm thinking of getting myself a pulsar. I need it for stunting + light commute purposes. Thinking about getting a classic (non dtsi, round headlamp). Are there any problems with this bike that I should look out for? It will probably do about 5k kms in an year. What kinda money should I be prepared to shell out for it?

                        • ^^^

Be prepared with some 25 to 30k s.. And price depends on the condition of bike.
The classic pulsar would have problems with silencer like rusting kind of probs.

                          • My pulsar is over 5 years old now. UG1. 50,000 kms done.

I have a problem where while riding even for short distances my right hand & shoulder pains a lot . Bike also vibrates a lot even at speeds of 60. Infact these days I only travel at around 60 or less to keep the pain in my hand & shoulder to a bare minimum.

I have a dunlop tyre in the front (90-90/17) & a sirac (120-90/17) at the back. No engine overhaul done as yet. Other than that, the bike has been maintained well (I think!!).

How do I get ride of the pains? I have stopped going for rides now cause I cant travel faster & if I do I get stressed out very quickly (because of bike vibrations & shoulder & hand pains in the left side!).

                            • Hello everyone,
Guys, i have been facing this strange problem after replacing my pulsar dtsi 150's petrol tank cap. Now the thing is that, whenever it rains or bike being washed, water accumulates in the inner ring around, where the petrol filling nozzle is inserted, i am damn sure water must have seeped into the tank. Now thats worrying, as that water also carries impurities along with it, which is not healthy for the engine.
The problem i am facing so far is, whenever i start my bike, the petrol starts getting leaked through the overflow pipe, i literally have to block the overflow pipe with my finger for few seconds and rev hard, next thing is problem gets vanished.
Now this is something which has never happened before the tank cap replacement, and it really makes me feel upset. Is there any solution to fix the openings in the tank cap so that water doesnt enters and lastly did the impure water which seeped into the petrol tank do any damage, and should i need to clean the tank.
I had shown this problem to a local mechanic, he said that the FLUTE PIN (not sure if i spelt it correct) needs to be replaced to avoid overflow. But i guess its something to do with the tank cap.
Please guys i need your valuable suggestions.
P.S. : i use my bike twice a week for shot distance commute, hence it remains idle for longer durations. And secondly, i have been facing this problem since last 4 months after the tank cap replacement.
                              Thanks.

Have you checked the pipe connected beneath the tank that goes up to the small hole of the left side of the fuel cap opening? That pipe if blocked will cause water to lodge in the area around the fuel cap. That pipe ends somewhere near the center stand area. Check it out.
