  • Pulsar 150 ug4 2009 - performance loss

    Hi

    I have a 2009 Pulsar 150 ug4 (11k km done)
In september I crashed my bike, and it was bit damaged. Had to replace the front shock absorbers, tyre, tube, disc. The alloy was okay, so didn't change.
There was a slight tilt in the chassis, the bajaj service center corrected it by applying heat and pressure. The bajaj guys confirmed there was NO damage at all to engine.

Now the prob is, there is a certain performance in the bike. Earlier, I could easily touch speeds of above 110 (max I went upto 117). But now I can hardly touch 105. There is no vibration as such, but the bike wont go any faster. Why so??

Also, I plan to get rear tyre replaced to 120 size. any problems I should look out for?

And Extra charges for Complaints if any.. Is this worth the money we pay? I left the centre and thinking of giving my bike in castrol bike zone.
What is your opinion guys? How good the bike zone is?
in my opinion bike zone is best of the best. The gold service they ask is rs 355 oil extra plus they dont charge any service tax. Instead on bajaj. U can see clear loot at bajaj centres.

              • I have a P150 classic of 2003 model bike has done only 27k on odo. Now the clutch has showing his age. Are the clutch plates for all P150s are same or different for different model? Which clutch plate will suit my version?

                    • Guys, I hv a ug2 p150 2k5 model. I was planning to repaint the engine nd alloys to black. But my concern is that, as summer is approaching, will my bike get overheated during long rides,if I paint my engine black????
And my bike skids a lot, so pls suggest which tyre to buy for my bike.

120 section rear tyre will reduce the acceleration, top speed and mileage, and engine will be running a bit stressed. instead maintain stock size and go for a tyre with better grip.

The engine will not get over heated if you paint it black. Almost all bikes nowadays comes with black painted engine. That will not make any difference. Go ahead and paint.

Go for power coating rather than painting.

Regarding tyres why not the stock MRF tyres? They will serve the purpose very well..

Have you done proper run-in after changing bore and piston?

Your bike is not going beyond 80 or vibrates after 80? Pls Make it clear.

This could be the issue with carb.. Get the carb retuned , if it is very lean then it will struggle to reach higher speeds, even it may not reach.

Ya i have run more than 3k kms after changing the boar and piston.
My bike after reaching 80 vibrates a little.
If this is the carb problem then are you telling me to change the full carb or any special part. Please also mention the cost of how much expenditure ???
if you want me to replace the full thing which carb should i go with i mean the carb of 150 cc or 180/200/220.
