No i wont mod my bike by spending more than a lac these are simple mods dude. The gain in performance will also be very little though.
When it comes to cosmetic modding, i just recollected how cool the green colour pulsar one of our Xbhpian has looks.

Its a very neat looking job. The sharp front fairing of the R15 and the chiseled tail section of new Pulsars blend in so beautifully. The only thing i did not like about that green pulsar were the handle bars. It's the only thing that does not blend in completely (The chrome rods usually seen on modded bikes somehow look cheap). Maybe the Pulsar 220's new all black split handle bars match perfectly to it (in terms of looks).

    And Prabhakar mc = Motorcycle

I was puzzled about the word 'ffe' Harsha used, i googled it to find out. haha

Yeah that mod job is done very neatly. but the Clip ons of pulsar 220 can not be installed on UG3 pulsar 150/180.. The frame would not support the bigger fork assembly. Also it will be very costly.

        • Hi Guys, I am new to XBHP though I have been reading your quotes and reviews form few days now. I am planning to buy a good performance bike in the 150cc range. Budget around 70K(+-10). My height is 5.4''. Seeing Pulsar 150 UG4.5. Can you please suggest me some other options?

          • Hello Xbhpians,

I got my mc today after the engine overhaul as said earlier. It felt so good to have the engine so smooth after such a long time.

But yes, it cost me a lot too. It cost me 11k.

I have attached the spare parts list that had been changed which contain the prices as well. Just for giving you all a rough idea and maybe it would be helpful for many of you looking for any similar parts.

Hehe yes i did not get what that word meant immediately when i read. I was trying to cook up some words of my own. fuel efficiency, fender eliminator, etc etc. (could not cook up what the first 'f' was though at that time)

11K for Changing Block piston :O .Thats quite a lot .
When You put FS oil , after how many km did you change it ??

There is no point in moding a P150 ,U can change the Block piston to 180-or max 200.
                Thats the best all stock.

Hmm :-? I don't remember exactly how much it was winzeee but i think it was close to ~3000km or so. I used FS oil only twice in my mc and there wasn't a need to do it the third time. I changed the bore-kit then for the first time. After that i never used FS oil at all. This is all what i remember as of now.

If performance is your main requirement go for RTR160. But for your budget you can even go for RTR180. P150 wont satisfy performance freaks For your height RTR will look great

Dude 11k ,its too much. Dont use any syn or semi synthetic oils. Pls do proper run-in to avoid more damages to your bike as well as your pocket. Enjoy the new ride !

Thanks a lot for the sugestion. Even i am considering the RTR 160. But I am confused. Lookwise I prefer Pulsar. Also just wanted to know is there any ABS version in the RTR160?

                        • Ryan if you like the looks of Pulsar then take P180, will satisfy your needs and mileage is at par with many other 150cc. P150 is good in its own way, its a power commuter IMO. Great mileage along with the decent power and commuterish riding stance. Reg ABS, There is no ABS option in RTR160.

                          • Hello all,

I had a small doubt regarding the relation between RPM and speed.

My mc, when i bought it in 07 used to do 50kmph at 4000rpm. But now and even before my second overhaul, it does somewhere around 46-47 kmph at 4000rpm.

what could be the problem? i changed the sensor cable yesterday thinking it would be the reason but stil there is no change whatsoever. Is it something that has to be done to the bearing within the wheel hub thhat rotates? greasing or something?

Please let me know what the problem could be.

                            • don't think you have a problem...

                              your RPM needle is analogue...
a difference of 1 mm (which isn't exactly easy to spot with the naked eye)...
would result in a difference of the speed your bike.
                              .

Oh ok. its just that i thought there could be some problem in my front wheel bearing hub from where the speed is measured.

Where does this engine rpm measurement come from? i mean where is it tapped from? is it some device that can be replaced with a new one so that i can get that perfect measures. This i just that i want to see the numbers perfectly at each engine rpm. that's all.
