      • Thanks for the quick reply guys. Recently i tried to rotate the front tire with my hand and i heard a squeaking sound from it and i don't think it was moving very freely. What could be the reason for this? Also while coming back from college today with a pillion rider the bike started feeling a bit stressed after riding for about 10km. It was not revving very freely. Any idea on what could be the problem??

The disc pads are in close contact with the disc hence the front wheel wont rotate freely. Happens in all bikes with disc brakes. Keep the disc free from mud and dust, just wipe it using a cloth, the squeaking wont be there.

Its obvious that with added weight the power delivery wont be the same, also your bike is new so till the first service you might face heating problems.

          • @ Prabhakar, thanks for the reply man. About the the pillion thing. The bike behaves normal for the first 10km with a pillion rider and then afterwards then engine starts to get a little bit ruff. When i reached home i just revved the bike to 3.5 rpm and the needle took longer to come back to 1000 reves than normal. You said that it could be because the bike is new and even i was thinking along the same lines but i'm still worried about it. And could you please tell me where i can check the engine oil level of my bike?

            • there's a window on gearbox at the bottom on right hand side, to look for oil level.

Have you checked the mileage? seems something related to carb issue, i am not sure though.. Get it sorted out in 1st service. Reg oil indicator, its just above the chrome silencer plate in right ride, you will see a small glass screen that show oil level.

                • Thanks guys, i'll check the oil level today. And i hove those SVC guys are competent enough to find out what is wrong with the bike. And do you'll know what's the best way to check the mileage? I already have about 10-11 liters in the tank.

                  • Easy rider, it depends on the service center, ask fellow members in your area to find out which is good. Accurate way to check mileage is tank empty to empty. Fill up atleast 5 litre and test it.

@ All , i have changed the handle bar to the one tat comes with pulsar 200, its quite fun to ride it with rear sets. Its flat and wide and for my height i feel its comfortable then stock handle..

                    • @Prabhakar, is the new handle bar comfortable over long distances and how much did you pay for it? And can you tell me the approximate charge of the bike's first service?

                      Comment

                      • I ride mostly in city mate, not more than 20 kms a day .. So i dont know about long drive comfort , ask in p180/200/220 thread as the riding position is same. Costs 290 for handle bar and 50 for labour , will upload pics in album later.

For first service we have to pay around 300 for oil and 15 for chain lock. Apart from that its free.. For all four free services it costs the same here. Get a good brand oil from outside and the service will cost you some 20 rs..

Pulsar tanks are prone to heating up . If you keep the bike in sun for much time then the bike refuses to start in one kick .
Solution is very easy , just open the tank lid and give some empty kick , it will cause the vacum to ran away & then rev it to idle . It happens very less but this is very simple way to get back the bike to normal . More the fuel in tank lesser the chances of vaccum accumulation and this does not happens with all Pulsars .

                            • Engine Overhaul - Pulsar 150 UG3 (53k appx on Odo)

                              Hello Xbhpians.
This is my first post. Please forgive me if i made any mistake while posting.

I had given my Pulsar 150 UG3 for overhaul yesterday and i happened to take some pics when the engine was getting stripped. One of the things that was clearly noticeable was the rough black deposit on the piston.

The overhaul was done mainly because the engine was drinking/burning oil i.e. I had to check for oil levels that usually went down in just 2 weeks time. The Castrol Bike zone mechs used to mention that my engine was weak whenever i gave it for servicing. So, finally i gave it for an overhaul.

This is the second time i'm doing something to the engine. The first time i changed it was in Bajaj A.S.S where they only changed the bore-piston kit and that was when the odo was doing 25k appx. (For the same oil burning issue)
I somehow have a strong feeling (many of you would deny it i'm sure) that the two fully synthetic oil (Castrol Power 1 Racing) usages before the first overhaul might have been the cause.

Please post your views based on the pics attached.

Hi. Welcome to Xbhp. So you have changed the bore and piston twice in this 53k kms. Any reasons for the engine oil drinking problem?
