Thanks for the DIY But I have a doubt, I own a pulsar 150 UG3 and I was told by service center guys during my purchase that the indicator you mentioned is Low fuel warning which doubles up as high rpm warning lamp, I checked with my manual and realized that not a single line is mentioned about that, but found this in service manual

        • There is a problem for my 5 year old p150 dtsi,At a span of 500km from the last oil change, the oil tends to be lower than the "lower mark" of the oil stick, but there is no smoke coming from the exhaust, but when keeping the hand near the exhaust(when the engine is running)for a while,i can sense the burnt oil smell. Is it a call for the piston change, help me guys

              • Hello to all the good folk here .

                This is Sourav from Chennai.

I have a 3.5 year old Pulsar 150 DTS-i UG3. It's been smooth sailing since the time I bought it. Never faced any issues with it. Serviced at regular intervals at Bajaj and Castrol Bike Zone. So far the bike has done around 38k kilometers. Apart from the rear grab rail that's been changed to the split type from the P200, tyre upgrades, and stator upgrade to the Avengers unit and a 55/60W lamp from the Avenger, I've kept the bike pretty much stock.

Just a few days ago, the horn stopped working. Then the console light, telltale lights, started flickering. Sometimes, while driving, all the lights would go off, and then suddenly come back on. I had the wiring checked and it turns out that most of the cladding has worn off and the connectors are pretty knackered.

Now, I am thinking of changing the entire wiring kit of the bike. I have a small question though. Can the wiring kit from the new Pulsar 150 UG4 be put on my bike? And I am talking about the entire wiring kit, including the BCU.

The reason I want to upgrade to the new wiring kit is that I kinda suck at DIY jobs . So rather than mod it myself to convert the whole thing from AC to DC, I would rather spend some more cash and get the new wiring kit from the UG4.

So, is it possible? If anyone has any pointers on this. it would be greatly appreciated . Also, if anyone knows about the part numbers for the wiring kits, please do share that information. It would be a big help

Thanks to all who took time out to read this post of mine

Looking forward to hearing from someone.

                Cheers!

                • @Sourav-1st thing first , do go for an outright change in the wiring system, as per me. See may b some water hav swept into the connections causing the flickering. Aslo look for any water sweepage in the joints where the wires are connected. May b just stripping off the bike parts like petrol tank , panels , etc what ever keeps the wiring concealed. DIY in wiring , I m not that confident with that point, I would rather trust an gd mechanic.
Do it ,lets c what happens!!!

first check tappet setting ,if its has more gap in it .....can cause effect on breathing of engine, and due to duel spark plugs increase chnces of knowking and this sounds like .....that u called kad kad kad.
also chek chain tensioner,i gauss your bike is ug4 that means not run more to cause such failure of engine parts...
                          Thank you...

                          • First time post - Pulsar 150 classic owner.

Hey guys, I am posting here for the 1st time. Own a P150 classic 2003 model and its almost 60k kms old without any problems now.

Recently had to change the clutch case and the carb due to ageing issues as they failed but the bike runs as smooth as ever without any complaints. Changed the shocks to the new Discover ones and it takes bumps as if none existed . Have got a new ZMA-R too but I love the pulsar and will keep it until its lasts.

I am also having the same problem but the solution mechanic gave was that i have to install a new piston and cylinder costing me 1500 bucks is that justified.

I hav also changed the Charger of the bike as it was found faulty , cost of charger Rs.320 of vortec or so.
