      Query:
What's the recommended Petrol Octane RATING for Pulsar 150. couldn't find it in Manual .
As per my understanding, Normal Petrol is 87 Octane and Shell is 91 Octane.
I am currently using shell on My bike.

actually my bike's speedo was showing touching 140kmph , but i knw thats an speedo error so I guess I was doing arnd true 120-125kmph.

My Pulsar is 2004 model DTSi V1 ,150cc.

I hav no jetting job done whatsoever, but yes taco was showing touching 9500-10000 rpm ,while going abt ton speeds. fully crouched position et all.

I was scared at that speed, as i was worried abt the engine faliure what so ever, but it all went gd. I think i got to change engine oil vry soon.
Oh by the way i m currently using SERVO lube with recommended grade
            i.e 20W40.

              hi everyone
my pulsar is giving me some trouble. The front brake seems as if it is jammed.
i replaced the disc plate and the brake pads but still it is not free.and if i ride for a long time(~1 hr) the disc plate is hotter than the silencer.even a drop of engine oil fries off!
              what to do?

chk out the hydralic fluid in ur brake set up. May be its jamming into smething

there is a plate spring in the disk pad assembly to apply pressure on disk pads see if it is properly attached and cleaned . also look at the rod (aluminium one ) on which the brake pads rest to bes smooth and allows retention to original position... note the disks on bikes are passive so one side of the pad is idle and on other one hydralick pressure is attached .. so when bike starts moving due to mild vibrations the disk pad reverts back to its original position

                    • Hi,

Well I own a july '08 model of P150. Its doing good job for me except the speedo part..... reading here I really doubt if I've revved my bike to limits. I've touched 110 once & not above....

Anything that can be done to increase the max speed though I'm on a heavier side in weight.

I think thats the max u can get in '08 model. As it has E-tec, top end u r getting is gd though.

                        • Pulsar 150 CC May 2008 Model

                          Hi All,

My pulsar is 11 months old and clocking 10011km till now.
I have no issues with the performance of the bike so far after a initial setback. On my first Serviceat one of the company authorised service station they forget to put engine oil after removing the old one and i drove the bike say 12 kms with engine oil, little did i realised about the problem. Initilly when bike broke down i thought i must have left Choke on which could have caused heating of the engine and thats why the bike broke down , but on analysing the whole sceniro i was shocked to find that bike has no engine oil.... complaint to Company...Service manager/Regional Sales and Service manager... for 3 days bike was with company and they delivered me after replacing all damaged part...luckily engine didn't suffer any big damage and they promised that there will be no problems with bike what soever.
And now I'm greatful to Bajaj Company for what all they have done for my bike, but would have appericiated if they would have taken any strict action against the Service Center (Sai Service Station, Aundh, Pune).
However, as bike is running fine giving and average b/w 55-60kmpl , I'm a happy person...........
But I have one issue.... Shockers Making noise even on small pots/digs.
Complaint to comapany/ new service station(referd by company officials) they made few adjustments and told that noise is coming from Chain and its covering and shocker are fine.... but whenever i herad that noise while driving.... it hurts mannnnnn!!!! so would like to know what can i do to reduce that nosie....plz suggest.

Sorry for such a long story.... but jst wana share myexperiance and tell everyone try to avoid this service centre in Aundh Pune.

                          Cheers!!!!!

                            • I have already complained to Bajaj people for Sai service Aundh for overcharging.
And many of my friends had bad experience.

But this Sai Service guy seems to have very good repo/ contacts in bajaj as his licence is not canceled yet after thousands of complains.
