            • i have a 2004 P150 DTSi done 37000kms. No major problems till date apart from normal wear n tear. I have changed clutch plate once, brake pads twice and recently at around 35K kms changed the chain set. no tyre change nothing still going strong.
I just wanted to check if i wanted to modify the bike like change head which is much easier and best bet P180 or P200 headset. and what all i have to change. I am already running on K&N fliter and NGK Iridium plug.
              Thanks in advance

              • Preplexed: Brake pad replement

                want to share an incident..

just 1000 KM After my gold service from Castrol Bike zone, today I felt, my P150 is not showing best front disc braking. In wake of ride planned on long weekend ahead went to castrol bike zone and asked them to check it.

after checking it, they told me, its completely gone and need replacement. strange they didn't pick it up while last servicing. could have given me a warning that its about to go.

Anyways, got it changed. took less than 60 seconds to replace it. bill read something like:
                1. Brake pads: 138 Rs.
                2. service 75 Rs.

Well, replacing it took less than 60 seconds (they claimed their skill).. and refused to reduce the labour charges..

hey, does the part replacement generally is charged almost 50% of the part's cost with replacement taking less than 1 minute.

I am going to my local mechanic for any part change from next time. Though i will buy it from Bajaj spares first.

                  • Some queries on Pulsar 150

I want to know some things about the Pulsar 150 2007 model.

                    1. what is the reserve fuel capacity?
                    2. What mileage should be expected of a normally riden bike whose age is around 9000kms ..no ripping ?
                    3. how many bars can you see on the digital console when the bike goes into reserve?
                    4. what should be the service schedule in terms of kms for the bike?

All the knowledgeable and experienced ..pls ignore my ignorance....
                    and enlighten me...

1.3.8 ltrs out of which 2ltrs is usable.
2.u can get 48-53 kmpl under normal riding
3.actually it should show 2 bars(and low fuel lamp glows)
but it shows 1bar (not that accurate u see)
4.its better to service once every 2months and change engine oil for every 3000kms
                      ????

thanks for ur prompt reply.... my concern is that i feel my bike's mileage has gone done terribly... in other bikes the engine dies when reserve occurs but i hasnt occurred.... my routine is as follows .. i fill for around 500 bucks at a time..now this bikes been withe me for the past 2 months only and i have been constantly getting around 320 kms till i reach the last bar.. i have nevr experienced the reserve thing happening(engine dieing down and then u turn the knob to reserve to keep going..)...m scared i might run out in middle of nowhere.....so i fill up again... i had a paid service done at bajaj showroom...but not much of a difference other than that the pickup went down a bit and the top end is reached at around 60-70kph(bad vibrations begin then on....prior to the service i used to get the vibrations well past 80 only... ) ..what should i do to get a tad better mileage... i drive around 30kms daily... and i dont like the vibrations at all... ..kindly advise...

Don't freak out the guys man.....changing of engine oil after every 3000kms.???? the engine will be gone just like "Gone in 60 seconds"........change of oil must be around 1000-1200kms.....at any circumstances unless you use EO like MOTUL, that also shud be changed within 2500kms.....

change of oil every 1200 kms do u use parachute or wat
dude bajaj itself recommends oil change for 5000kms or 150 days which ever is earlier
even a normal mineral engine oil can survive for 2k kms leave alone motul 300v which people use it for upto 8k kms...
i use semi synth power1 and change it every 3k kms...which is perfect no probs at all
dude if u donno dont speak n dont confuse others

bike should fall into reserve if petrol gets over there's no other way
why u fill for 500?? try filling for 100 and ride ...after 100 kms or so....... ur bike shud starve for fuel(if knob is in on POSITION)
regarding vibrations check the rubber engine mounts

+1. From where does ppl get such ideas? Any oil can last atleast 2000 kms under harsh conditions.
