Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Though the viscosity is the same automotive oil is formulated as a engine crankcase oil. And motorcycle oil is formulated for 3 jobs, a crankcase oil, a transmission-gear oil, and a wet clutch oil. The most important difference is the wet clutch oil, automotive oil won't work cause of the energy saving formulation will cause a wet clutch to slip. the average motorcycle engine is a high performance engine and the correct formulation of motorcycle oil is important, this oil works harder and more and more is expected from motorcycle oil. So you can't use it in your bike.Originally posted by sanket779292 View PostFriends, Yesterday bought the oil, but since the motul wasn't available gor the castrol GTX 20w50 but after coming home i realized that it is a car oil so is it safe to use in my pulsar 150 UG4.5b SANE to b insane!

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Ask the dealer to exchange it with that of bike oil. Even if he doesn't try to sell it online. Using the same in bike may cost your bike a lot.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Maadyy bro, Today I replaced my Air Filter, I bought it from Market for 70 Rs. lubricated it with SAE 90 grade gear oil and put it in use.....Originally posted by maadyy View PostOpen the right side panel with your ignition key, then use the screw driver given in the tool to open the box. I suppose 4/6 screws are there. You can then take out the air filter. It has a fiber dissection in between sponge air filter. take that out, but be cautious while putting the new air filter coz you need to use that fiber panel to insert the air filter. For lubricating you can use Motul chain lubricant, its good. If pocket permits you can use Motul chain cleaner also. Chain can be cleaned otherwise with the help of brush or chain cleaner brush to be specified. You can use petrol to clean the air filter.
Old one is also looking fine, I cleaned it using Kerosine oil thoroughly and it looks now as brand new, I may use it next time while I will be busy in cleaning the new one, Kept it as spare one........
Engine feels a bit smooth now.......

There is one more problem that is irritating me so much, I am feeling this problem since I last got my bike serviced...........
My Chain Cover is making so much Noise at frequent intervals (Every 30-40 seconds) it irritates me very much, i want my bike to run smoothly without making any noise but it is not like that..
I went to ASC 3-4 times, they tightened the Chain and lubricated it every time but the problem remains the same, I explained them clearly the problem but they are not able to solve it, They say everything is perfect, Chain slackness is Okk.......
Last week I cleaned the chain and chain cover myself using kerosine, Lubricated it using SAE 90 Grade Oil (Recommended in Manual) but this problem is just taking my breath away...
I hope someone here may help me to get rid of that irritating noise from Chain Cover.......
(One of my friend suggested to ride the Bike without chain cover, But I don't agree, Its not a solution)

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Bro chain slackness is a problem in almost every Pulsars. I have taken out my chain cover , it also helps me to keep it clean and lubricated in my own way. I usually clean and lubricate it myself at an interval of every 400km. So you may try taking the chain cover off but then you have to maintain the chain lubrication religiously. You can test and adjust the chain slack yourself anyways.Originally posted by rkg.narnaul View PostMaadyy bro, Today I replaced my Air Filter, I bought it from Market for 70 Rs. lubricated it with SAE 90 grade gear oil and put it in use.....

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Bro, it would be good if you see the mechanic do it once. You can pick up on it and start doing it. Youtube/Google is the best way to find videos of same or similar bikes. Since almost all of your problems are solved by maadyy with an exception of chain cover making noise. If the chain slackness if correct, try to see the inside of the chain cover to ascertain which area comes in contact with the chain. Try to bend that part out to create significant/necessary gap.Originally posted by rkg.narnaul View PostCan you gimme a short DIY or video to pull out the Battery and fill it with distilled water, I have not done it before so asking for help.......
Read the manual of the bike very carefully. The battery is towards the left side cover and the air filter to the right. The battery will be bolted to the electricals by the two terminals. Not every tool related to the bike is present in the toolkit. You need to buy a few. Unscrew the bolts of the battery terminal, unhook the rubber stripe which keps the battery fixed. A red stripe on the top of the battery should be removed to fill in distilled water. There is a chance that it might not be necessary.
What we will tell you is texual and if your experiment or experience doesn't give you the result you wanted, you'll be pissed off on us. Try to learn this at least the first time from a proper mechanic. After that it'll be much easier. For now, I change the oil, clean airfilter, sparkplugs, clean/lube chain. It has been more than 1.5 years now since I gave my bike for washing outside. I do that at home and even if it takes time, I know I am doign it right.Regards,
Akash Yadav

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Dude for changing water in Battery I will suggest you to take it to local garage or battery shop, coz fiddling with battery might be fatal. Anyways I think your one is a MFF battery, if it is so then there is no question of water filling.Originally posted by rkg.narnaul View PostCan you gimme a short DIY or video to pull out the Battery and fill it with distilled water, I have not done it before so asking for help.......b SANE to b insane!

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Check your manual. The intervals are mentioned in the slips at the back. If you are happy with your current SC then it's better not to change.
