Ya tats for sure, the prblm may be due to only two reasons
    1) carbon deposits or
    2) carborator jet
As you told ur bike carb has been cleaned once so i suggested you with the first option.

well. so, for cleaning the carbon deposit inside the piston, it needs the complete dismantling of the engine, am i right?

I own my p150 (2015 model). The only thing that i am uncomfortable with is the footpegs... I wanna fix a reaeset footpegs like that of a p180. I dont have any idea whether i can do it or not. Is that possible? If yes.. then how? I wanna replace the footpegs along with brake lever and gear... Thanks in advance.

                    • Pulsar 150 engine extra noise (Audio clip link added)

                      Hi All

My Pulsar 150 engine has an extra noise after it has been serviced

Added Diaphargm rubber as suggested by mechanic for a better mileage, Not having much idea on diaphargm rubber.
and also changed the Air filter

My bike has crossed 40000 kms and at 37000 kms I had replaced my bore and piston changed

Please check the link for engine sound
Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

The sound keeps me a little irritating, Will this sound is a sign for engine damage? The does not look smoother.

                      Can someone please advise

                        Hello guys

This problem is fixed as of now, I took the vehicle back to the same mechanic, the issue was with the loose timing chain

Mechanic told that he has tightened the timing chain. I ride the bike and I felt the sound was good.

After reaching home, I observed the engine at a closer look and noticed one extra bolt as highlighted in the picture below
Can you please advise, if this is a proper fix? , will this fix last long?

Please note: My bike clocked 40000k now. This cam chain has been replaced with a new one at 37000 kms (At the time of bore change),

Mechanic also told, if the problem comes again,we will have to replace the timing chain!!!
Right now, I am observing the engine closely to watch for any other problems.

Was reading some old pages, members claiming that mineral oil is best suited to P150 and not to go with FS or SS oils. After using many oils (yes changing oils regularly is very bad for the engine, I agree) and covering more than 23000kms on these oils. I can assure you that Semi-synths are the way to go.
Oils I used - Gulf, Valvoline Premium, Castrol P1, Motul 3100, Elf SS etc.
Best oil I found would definitely be Valvoline Premium. Its just smooth and my engine feels rev-happy all the time. Gearshifts are smooth and there are no leakage or burning issues due to the oil.
Currently as of now, my bike needs change of valve stem seals as I see oil on spark plugs and smoky start at morning, will switch to Motul 5100 SS Ester based oil after this and report back. The grade will be w50. Keep riding. Cheers !

                            • Pulsar 150 - Oil depleting - Fix or top up ?

                              Hi Guys,

I own a Pulsar 150 UG3 2009 model. I service my bike every 3 months or 3000 kms regularly. However there was a period when I was strapped for money and extended this to 5000 kms at one point. But over the past two services I noticed that whenever I gave the bike for service, the mechanic told me that there is only bare minimum oil left and this problem is now getting worse, after 2000 kms, my bike has oil at the min marker.

The local mechanic I went to quoted a price of 8.5 k. Said something has to be fixed in the engine block, new piston, piston rings, something related to valves, new camshaft etc etc. I read through a whole bunch of other posts for the same issue. Only difference is, in my bike I don't see smoke out the exhaust although it does have a coating of carbon on the inside and there is no drop in performance and I still get pretty good mileage 50+ kmpl. So is the mechanic really correct about all these fixes being required ?

Also, I am considering selling my bike in the next 6-9 months. So even if all these fixes are required, as long as I keep the engine oil topped up, Would it be fine to keep riding my bike ? I do not want to invest another 8-10k unless absolutely required.
