I could nt find any shop in chennai selling motul brands, can you give me the exact location where motul brands are sold.

If your manual says xW40, its better to use Shell AX7 semi synthetic oil. Good oil

Anyways any pulsar owner can use the best suited oil Valvoline 4T premium 20w50 synthetic blend semi synthetic oil. It is the best oil for Pulsar.

Other than above oils dont go for anyother ones, even Motul brands (For 150cc), pure wastage of money. Valvoline performs exceptionally well. engine becomes very smooth. At anycost avoid Bajaj oil, Castrol.

Drain interval 2500-2800 Kms. (max 3000kms)

Is there will be any problem to do that ? Any engine or valv or piston damage ???

    -the mixture will become lean
    -water may enter through it
-dust will enter the engine and hence bore-piston damage

    Dear all,
so I managed to clobber together certain parts of various models of pulsars, discover 150(gen1) a cd dawn for hte front drum assembly ending up with this monstorsity, of which you would find an attached picture.

Now the issue is that I had overhauled my carb, replacing the diaphragm and the jets, however I guess I messed up the tuning and now it is running really lean, that is at full open throttle the bike jerks and refuses to go forward, in addition while engine braking, there is this popping sound from the exhaust.

I tried explaining the issue to the ASC mechs and they could not understand what I meant nor did the local mechs, I tried looking at manuals online for tuning the AFR ratio, but those too were too obscure.

So can anyone help me by explaining the tuning process? ( my meter console is also broken so I am running without the RPM indicator).

    Hi Guys

My bike is pulsar 150 UG 4.5 and 22k on the odo. My front suspension was feeling very stiff lately . During the recent service fork oil , oil seals and cone set was changed. But still i dont feel any improvement in the suspension stiffness.

Anything specific I should look into.?

Front disk brake of pulsar 150 issue

After observing serious jamming of the front wheel of the bike ( hard to rotate ) I seek help from this mech and he suggested I changeb buckets of both hand lever and front disk brake assembly which was done and wheel now rotate much freely. Now another nasty issue occurring ...I see the hydraulic oil is leaking from the brake assembly near the disk and brakeing is somewhat compromised. Now mech is asking to change entire set !! So since I have no other option but to buy the front disk brake Assembly, so IF I buy pulsar 220 disk brake Assembly will it be a direct fit to my pulsar 150 ? Or if I want to use apach rtr front disk Assembly will it work with pulsar 150 ? Please guys I'm expecting your valuable opinion ...thanks in advance

My bike (Pulsar UG2 2005 ending model) was started to behave strangely since a week i.e; it will not start by self (but cranks) and it has to be kicked very hard a number of times early morning and after a long stand, to start and has to be given throttle to stop it from dying. After that it will be ok. it will behave normally like, as there is no problem at all. (I have changed a cdi 3 years back due to complete seize of ignition)

but some times it is working flawlessly in morning.

Initially thought it was valves clearance problem, but the problem found was weak spark from LH side ignition wire which is obviously the problem (hoping) of my bikes CDI.

i went to bikes electrician and asked for testing cdi's. i have sourced various models all being ac cdi's ( i have not found a single dc cdi... )

DH 11 1019 1st gen Dtsi (may be)

DH 11 1056 Pulsar UG2 (My bikes model)

DH 11 1064 Pulsar UG3 (Digital meter model may be 2007 and 2008)

and one blue colour cdi (dont know which bikes it is.. may be discovers or others)

1064 made my bike accelerate smooth (but slowly) and my bikes exhaust sound was smooth and also the blue cdi result was the same...

where as my my model 1056 makes my bike accelerate real fast and exhaust sound was little bit rough/harsh . But response was very good.

I inquired the mechanic about changing to DC CDI. As far as i know its not that difficult atleast for me (i think so) only problem is sourcing of wire connectors for that cdi (real difficult)

but he said that we have to change Stator, Magnet, and CDI...

As far as i know the differences in CDI will be Rev limiter, firing timing (TDC), and intensity of firing (maybe)

AFAIK all the (starting from UG2) Pulsar 150, the stroke length is 56.4 for all models, so the firiing timing should be the same..????
    Pulsar UG2 (Bore (mm) X Stroke (mm) 57 X 56.4)
    Pulsar UG3,4 (Bore (mm) X Stroke (mm) 58 X 56.4)

each and every Pulsar 150 model cdi is different in their own way in ignition cdi maps and many think all pulsars are the same and think bajaj does some stickering job every year....

My question is why should i change magnet..??? Is there any change in magnet of DC Pulsars..??? Any change in T position in magnet?? or he mean to say to change starter clutch which was attached along with it..??

As i keep my stator, pickup coil will decide when the firing should start,.. then why he is asking to change that...??? Just to make some easy cash...???

i haven't seen the dc pulsars internals so thats why i need some details from u guys

Guys, i need your help for the following..

DC CDI clear pics with part numbers and your exact bike model and month...

Any idea how much wattage do the DC ignition of pulsar take..?? have any one checked..?? i mean atleast decrease in volts near battery terminals..?? i think not more than 20-30 watts..?? Any idea dudes..???

Stator pics with pickup coil (along with stator it is present) (do the UG4 has pick up coil (black))...

There is no single pic which was posted as Pulsar 150 dc cdi and stator in the whole web..

Please help me for the above details guys

Any inputs and suggestions are welcome

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers

    Dudes...

    Any one please help.....

    bro....

V!RU$ can you help me in this matter..???

i want know how will be the full stator coil, its connections (i.e; sockets) as well as cdi and its connecting wires at the sockets.... Your help is much required

    thanks in advance

    Bro,

The original tank costs may be around 4-5 thousands.. not sure.. that is 1/3rd of ur bikes current price if you intend to sell ur bike. I think you got my point..!! I suggest you to search for a decent tank in olx or in local bike shops which will surely save you one or two thousands..!! Please dont invest so much on it..!!

    Cheers
