Please help me regarding this.
cost of major engine parts in INR- Block-piston-1700-1800, valves-400, timing chain-200 plus any other damaged parts and labor cost....In SVC they will quote 7k-10k...rebuilding can be economical if you persuade the SVC mechanic to work on engine outside SVC on holiday...Tell him to replace the above spares and damaged parts ONLY... You can get it done for around 4-5k....the performance will be more than satisfactory... pulsar and ct100 are different breeds....If you want good mileage you better go for platina or ct100

    Pulsar 150 Gearbox/Self Start

I am from Delhi purchased used Pulsar 150 in 30k, it is 2013 model with 16k running.

    Issue facing with..

1-Gear shifting is hard and some time getting false neutral.

2- Self start not working some time, when pressing sound like "kirrrrrr kirrrrr" and some time no any sound coming.

3- Kick start also not working some time, but some time start in half kick.

Headlight with all electricals are on battery and even headlight also working fine but self start not worked, but if rode the bike 2-3km after that no issue in self start.
i ride bike on Saturday only for 50km.

There is a clutch switch on the bike which needs to be changed. This allows the bike to be started when in gear with clutch lever pulled in. Get this replaced and things should be fine!

But if i give my bike in Bajaj Service Center, they will use their own oil BAJAJ DTSI 10000.

Also one more question, is it ok to service the bike to Bajaj Service Center or to the local mechanic.
Currenlty i give my bike to my mechanic who does servicing very well, but cost more for servicing
If you find your mechanic and trustworthy, how much he's charging etc fine... Stick to him.. Service centres generally charge more for replacing unnecessary things and taxes...

Generally if you ride your Pulsar 150 in a good manner and service it regularly it is very pocket friendly bike... My 10+ yrs experience says these words...

when you are giving it to service centre take the oil with you and ask them to change infront of you... tell them to do this.. No one will/should object you.!!!!

Try to source Valvoline Xtra premium Xw50. It is best VFM for our bike. If its not available anywhere Try Castrol xW50 oil. If not available try xW40 Shell AX7 (xW40 not preferable for our old model Pulsars).

Oil change interval should be between 2500-2900 Kms max.better to change oil around around 2600Kms.

Max go for Valvoline or else any good xW50 oil except Bajaj oils...!!

I have a question regarding the engine oil :
Is this oil "Bajaj DTS-i 10,000" good and genuine for Pulsar 150 ?
And if i use this oil, after how many kilometers should i change the oil ?

The service center guy told me to change after 5ooo kms.

Comments on this would be appreciated..
