If u can record the sound of the engine it will lead to some conclusions.

Sorry for replying late, Yes Pickup is good and the exhaust smoke is normal

Anyhow, I took the bike another service center yesterday

They found there was a crack on the cyclinder head near the right side of exhaust pipe. which was causing the leak.. I had replaced the bike Head..

so Far I ride some 50 kms and no leaks found.Hoping not to find any more issue.....

But Not sure, what could have caused to head to crack!!!!!..

Thanks for your inputs....

Yes the oil level is getting drop as there is a leakage

After I noticed there is a leak, I took the bike to the same service center couple of times, every time they told it is solved
but the leak still exists, every time they ensured the gasket is in good condition

Last time when I went they told that they have applied some sealant and replaced the gasket. but the problem still exists..

Meanwhile I just did my internet research and I found applying ANABOND gasket sealant will work good on the engine oil leaks.

I am not able to tolerate the heat it generates due to the exhaust leak in my daily rides and it is very much frustrating me

I am thinking to apply anabond, Is this a better solution?

Even if I wanted to do so.. I am very much confused how to apply it, do we need to dismantle the silencer pipe from the header or
can we just apply without dismantling anything. Need advice badly here!!!!

Because I dont want to mess up anything and afraid to dismantle something where I really don't know much.

Can some one help me here to fix this,,,

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions

Hi friends,

Im having a pulsar ug3 model having done about 98k kms. A few days ago i cleaned both the spark plugs and cleaned the sediment bowl of the fuel cork and refitted it.
Since then i have been getting sudden jerks while riding all through the rpm range and also cranking up is become very troublesome now. Happens a lot in 1-4 gears. And pottering around is a nightmare, i have to intermittently rev the bike to keep it from stalling.
What could have gone wrong? Has anyone had this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Short Ride for the first time

Let me start off with the age of my bike - 8 years old (UG3) and 25k odd kms clocked

I have never done rides >50 kms on my bike because of a few reasons its old now (i never got a chance when it was new) and mainly because its a GJ state passing bike being run in Bengaluru and don't want to run in any hassles with cops for road tax issues. So whenever i wish to go for a days' ride (200kms approx) i prefer to rent a Royal Enfield or something else from zoomcar's stable.

Today i thought of going on a short solo ride (~100 kms) just for fun. Morning was calm and peaceful and i could easily maintain speeds of 70-80 (tank and foot pegs vibrate a lot at around 7k rpm mark and thats where it hits 80 at 5th gear). While returning back after doing approx 45kms, i decided to fully open the throttle (believe me which i have never done before and never hit a top speed figure) and i easily reached till 111kmph @ 9k rpm. Engine was smooth and i attribute it to the fully synthetic oil that i switched to. Previously with semi synthetic oil, bike used to change its note the moment i ripped it till 90kmph with some odd oil burning smell from engine. Anyways so while coming back i tried to hit the top speed twice and was quite happy and contended with it given its an eternity old bike.

But after completing nearly 60-70kms, i felt a sudden pull or rather deceleration even though the throttle was open almost 1/3 on a flat road and thats when i noticed that my front brake pads are getting jammed to the disc. I had changed rotor and disc pads around 2 weeks ago and they were quite oddly brushing against each other even though the front brake lever wasn't pulled. The mechanic said it would ease out with some kms. Nevertheless it did ease out after riding around 150 kms but today they decided to leave all the worries and unite without any external force. . I thought it could be the expansion of brake pads because of the heat generated from disc and pads due to constant brushing and even tried pouring some water on the disc assembly thinking to cool it off and boy there were vapours. The disc was hot!

I waited for like 10 mins to cool it down and decided to give it another shot. Again after 5-10 mts, the pads started biting the disc and i was stranded on a flyover with a motorcycle which could barely move. i waited for some more time and pushed the bike on 2nd gear to reach some safe spot where i can wait and search for a mechanic. I don't know what stupidity hit me and i had read a thousand times not to touch the disc after long ride, i still tried to touch it and damn i burnt my fingers. Stupid me . Then i pushed it few more blocks and found a mechanic who fixed it. He adjusted the brake pads and changed the brake oil which according to him has rust deposited in the entire assembly and that caused the brake pads to stick to the disc rather than coming back to its actual position. After getting it repaired i gushed in some air thinking "Pheww! nothing more could go wrong and i could reach my home". Thats when again i started losing on power. Damn! It felt like the fuel supply was cut and the bike refused to start. Cranked it a couple of times but no luck. I was running low on fuel (reserve mode) but i was sure it wasn't empty atleast. After some vigorous bike shaking, it fired back to life and i quickly rushed to a fuel pump so that i can fill up some fuel and safely drive back home without any glitches. And i was. During my returning home ride, i never pushed it beyond 60kmph.

Lesson learnt: I am never going on a ride more than 20-30 kms on this bike. Despite the engine is good but there are other peripherals which has started to show some age and could get me stranded on an open road or even worse.
A thought that gave chills down the spine is: "What if the brakes got utterly jammed when i was ripping at full throttle." Though i wear my gears but still could get me into deep trouble.

Thumbs up! if you have read it completely!

Bajaj Pulsar Classic-Timing Chaim Issue

Hi guys I need help on a timing chain issue with my bike. There is a distinct timing chain noise when I start up my bike in cold condition. I have recently restored it completely with a new paint job and a new engine parts. Details are as follows.

Timing chain
Tensioner
Guides for same
Upper gear for timing chain
Clutch plates and pressure plates
Electric start system(Didn't have anything earlier so the entire system is new along with the wiring harness)
Carburettor
Valves and oil seals.

There never used to be a problem or any noise from my bike earlier and I used to get a decent mileage of 45-48k/Litre. But then ever since I got it here at Calcutta(previously used to stay at Bombay) this noise with the timing chain doesn't just seem to go. Have tried everything and a lot of mechanics, but the issue isn't helping. Please help!
Thanks!

Also open up the attached lube oil pump, inspect the gears and also clean the small filter of the pump. You will have to drain the entire engine oil into a clean container and also measure the amount. Box it up after the checks I have mentioned and add lube oil as required. Should solve your problem.

Thank you Arnav for your detailed explanation, I will get it checked soon..But I have a question , I read somewhere in the internet that the over heat will kill the piston, Now my worry is whether the over heat should have affected the newly installed bore and piston in my bike?, I am riding the bike with this problem for last one week and after the installation of bore/piston, my bike has completed 650 kms.

Pulsar 150 oil leak on the engine head jjoint of silencer pipe

Bike : Pulsar 150 2011 model
Recently I had changed my Bore and piston in a authorized service center
and I maintaining the speed below 50Km as advised
But just After 500 km, I observed there is a engine oil leak from the engine Head joint to the silencer pipe and enormous amount of heat
generated.
Immediately I took the bike to the service center and mechanic told the Gasket could be the problem and the engine heat is because of the oil
leak in the head.
On the same day when I got my bike delviered, I noticed only the engine oil was replaced and no gasket changed, when I enquired this to the
mechanic, he told that gasket replacement not required as it was just matter of tightening the bolts.(No idea, what was the fix here!!!).
Now after couple of days.. I noticed the oil leak is just reduced but not completely stopped, Also I can feel the heat while riding.
Can some one help me what could be the problem here and how to fix this leak?
engine heat is because of the leak?
Will it affect my newly installed bore and piston?
Thanks in advance
