Bajaj Pulsar Classic 150cc.
Hi guys I need help on a timing chain issue with my bike. There is a distinct timing chain noise when I start up my bike in cold condition. I have recently restored it completely with a new paint job and a new engine parts. Details are as follows.
Timing chain
Tensioner
Guides for same
Upper gear for timing chain
Clutch plates and pressure plates
Electric start system(Didn't have anything earlier so the entire system is new along with the wiring harness)
Carburettor
Valves and oil seals.
There never used to be a problem or any noise from my bike earlier and I used to get a decent mileage of 45-48k/Litre. But then ever since I got it here at Calcutta(previously used to stay at Bombay) this noise with the timing chain doesn't just seem to go. Have tried everything and a lot of mechanics, but the issue isn't helping. Please help!
Thanks!

Re: semi synthetic oil after 1500km in pulsar 150??
Its too early to flush the engine. Better to keep it overnight for the engine oil to settle at the bottom then change it the next morning before starting the bike.Originally posted by umangloriya View PostThanks bro, direct oil change Will be okay or I should flush ?

No one is here to help?Originally posted by umangloriya View PostHello Guys ,
Hope you all are doing well. i have rebuild the engine of my pulsar 150(2010) in march and i have completed nearly 1500-2000 kms .i have changed oil for two times one is at 600kms and then at 1500km and used bajaj 10000 oil, i am getting around 42 kmpl mileage . here is the main problem starts that i have given bike to my brother and i forgot to tell him about last oil change so he give the bike to some mechanic in Gandhinagar for service and also changed oil to semi synthetic volvoline premium 4t. but i have heard that SS oil should not used during first 5000kms.
So please if anyone have idea about this please suggest if i should change oil to bajaj mineral or keep using SS oil???

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Oil leaks are only because of poor gaskets, synthetic oil is always superior to mineral oils, the 15-50 grade is thicker, so you would have warm the engine properly before heading out, as it would take time to circulate through the whole engine.Originally posted by del.spm View PostI have Pulsar 150CC UG4.5 2013 model, have 20k odd. My maximum use of bike to drive for weekend ride approx 800km. Till now I am using Castrol mineral oil and now want to switch for semi synthetic oil. I heard that synthetic oil can be causes of oil leaking from head gaskets. Also Motul 5100 grade is different( as per pulsar manual, 20w40 but Motul is 15w50).

Pulsar 150 DTSi - new battery but self start doesn't work
I got a new Amaron battery installed in my Pulsar 150 DTSi (2006 analogue model). It worked flawlessly for 1 week or so but since few days ago horn/self start performance started degrading gradually. The horn is sounding muffled now when button is pressed, similarly self start button does almost nothing when pressed. Headlight and indicators are working fine though.
What could be wrong and anything that I could check or do myself?
