    K&N BA-2201 for pulsar 150 UG-3

    Hi Fellow Riders,

I wanted to know how good is K&N BA-2201 stock filter replacement for pulsar 150 (UG 3 2008 model)?
Wanted to know opinions of P150 users who have used this filter before i buy it.
They say it doesn't need a re-jetting but by any chance will this filter make air-fuel mixture on leaner side and cause engine heat up on longer drives?

Thanks a lot for your help. I visited today and they said that the timing chain needs to be replaced and told me to visit early morning tommorow. I will ask them to check and adjust the valve tappets as well. Thank you for the information.

    Hi Xhbpians,

Can the sizes of the tubeless tyres fit the current rim for the both rear and front of my P150 UG 4.5.

    Front 2.75 - 17
    Rear 100 / 90 - 17
Today I went to the MRF tyre shop, the shop man told me that the current tyres are not tubeless and they cannot retrofit the tubeless tyres in the current rim. I was browsing through the internet for tubeless tyres. I was surprised to see the guy giving a comment, that it fitted it. Has any one fitted the same for P150?

Please see the link found on snapdeal

I cannot be sure without hearing it , but my guess is it's valve noise . It comes from loose tappets when engine gets hot , there is no harm from a bit loose tappets other than little performance loss . Get the valve tappets adjusted from authorised service , but this has to be done on a cold engine - so you shall have to leave the bike there for few hours after you ride there . Ensure that they do a good job using proper feeler gauge tool .

A little late to reply, but Pulsars don't have secondary air injection. That tech is limited to Honda derived engines today.
Only Eliminator had it in the past. Rest is taken care of by DTSi.

Hello friends. I need an urgent help. I was unable to get my bike checked due to an urgent program as I need to travel from delhi to gwalior tomorrow on my bike(pulsar 150 ug4.5). I felt that the engine oil level was low so did a top-up myself and now it feels like over-filled. Can you guyslet me know will it be having any negative effect on the engine? The level currently is showing little upwards from indicated when bike is parked on middle-stand. I have attacked the screenshot. Will this level at(middle-stand) is going to have adverse effects on engine? I have to start the journey tommorow at 5 am.

    Thanks for reply.

Currently, just after running for 1500 KM, engine oil level reduces to half. Will such amount of loss of engine oil be caused by not proper tuning of carb?

I have completed run in procedure and up to 700 km I have never rev beyond 5000rpm. Is this will still affect engine?

I owned Pulsar 150 from 2002 to 2004 and 150 DTSI from 2004 to 2015. Both were good. My 2004 DTSI covered 1,30,000 Km in 12 years without any major issues. CD ignition coil changed twice. Clutch cable lasts for 15000 - 18000 km and accelerator cable for 25,000 Km. Both are very cheap. Mileage is always 50-55 km . A good commuter bike. I used to change engine oil in every 2000Km .Proper washing and waxing make him young even after 12 yrs and 1,30,000 Km. I sold and upgraded to Honda Hornet 160 in Dec 2015.

Black smoke could be due to sticking valves too. Change the air screw first n see.
