Re: Pulsar 150 UG4 Headlight glass only if available or dome cost
Hi guys,
I own a pulsar 150 which is 2007 model. Recently i was unable kick start the bike once i turn the ignition off and on. went to the mechanic, he checked the spark plug. The spark was not coming from the plug. Removed the cdi and beat it slightly against the wall and put back into its place. The spark was coming now and the bike started. he told me its the cdi problem and needs to be changed. I got the same problem 1 more time and i myself removed the cdi without going to the mechanic. did what exactly the mechanic did and cleaned every plug joint with wd 40 as well. placed it back and the bike started. after i have done this, i never faced this issue. so i doubt its the cdi issue or not. I need expert advice here.Last edited by cbzee; 12-31-2016, 02:07 PM.

Re: Pulsar 150 Mileage Issue
45kmpl on the highway is a good mileage for the pulsar 150Originally posted by kv.ketan View PostDear All ,
I am having Pulsar DTSi 150 2010 model.. i have been regularly servicing and maintaining it. 6-8 months back i carried out engine work - changed block piston, valve lapping , changed valve seal , changed cluth & pressure plates at a trust worthy local mechanic.. Also got Spark plugs & air filter changed.. since then i have been facing issue with bike's mileage.. i am getting 37-38 in City and 45-46 ( at speeds around 65-70 kmph) on Highways.. i have been constantly using Motul 5100 15W50 for bike.. Could you let me know what is the standard mileage given by Pulsar 150 in both city and highway conditions.. i have been reading many forums where users mentioning the mileage around 50-60..
Please can you also give some suggestiong as to increase bike's mileage..
Many thanks !!!

Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi 2004 Model CDI issue
Hi, I own a Bajaj Pulsar which is a 2004 model and I have been having issues with the Bike.
There is not a single day which doesn't goes without the Bike Hiccups.
The Bike Misfires and when i got to the mechanic he said me that this is CDI issue and it needs to be replaced but i can't find the same match with the Authorised service dealers.
With that the Dealers say me that the Part number has been changed and you will get it with Part number DJ 11 1008 but the Original Part Number is DH 11 1019.
With that also I changed the CDI with the given part number by the Authorised dealer but then also the same problem arise and now the Bike doesn't moves an inch. And it struggles when it is put into first gear.
And Once a CDI is Sold by the Authorised Dealer it is not received back by them because it is an electronic item ( mentioned by the Authorised dealer )
Please, take a concern because my bike is dying.[emoji20]

Bike vibrates after timing chain change Urgent help
Hello everybody i need urgent help. I have pulsar 150 UG3 80,000km running . Bike was in good condition, but lost its pick up. My mechanic said to change the clutch plates. I changed clutch plates. after that there was some noise so he asked me to change the TIMING CHAIN. so after changing TIMING CHAIN, now my bike vibrates terribly. I even cannot drive it . the mechanic said to use it for 2-3 days and bring back and he will do some adjustment and it will be fine. So what could be the exact problem ?? or mechanic have assembled the engine incorrectly or what else it could be ?? as tomorrow i am going to demand my money back. I need to know this as soon as possible

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Hi xbhp'ans,
I am having a pulsar 150 2007 model 78k done on odo. it was not ridden for few days as i have 2 bikes and recently i have changed several things like air filter, battery rectifier (previous one was damaged), clutch cable, spark plug etc. several days ago i got problem with 'water in the tank' when i used to park without cover the bike in a rainy day. the bike was given to the local mech. and was told to clean the petrol tank and carburator as well as the clogged water drainage hole in the tank. when i goto the shop after he finish the work the mech told me he cleaned the tank and carburator but was unable to clean the water drainage hole in the tank.
Recently i was trying to kick start the bike (self not working bcoz of bad battery) and the bike was not starting at all. again go to mech. he identified the problem. there was no spark coming from the spark plug wire then he took out the CDI unit and beat it slightly against the wall and put it back and the bike started. The mech. told me it is ok for now but you have to change the CDI if the same problem occurs. like he told that problem again came today. i was unable to start the bike and i did what exactly the mech did previously and the bike started
. i jst cant believe the mech blindly for whatever he says....
So i here is my queries.
1 how to clean the water drainage hole in the water tank ourself (a DIY is greatly appriciated)
2 is it the CDI problem or the wiring / connector ?

Good mechanic/garage near chembur for refurbishing pulsar 150
Hello, i am from Mumbai & i am new to xBhp and still exploring the forum so kindly forgive me if i am posting in a wrong thread.
I have a Bajaj Pulsar DTSi(2006 model) and i am riding it for for past 10 years. i want to refurbish it or modify it in a legal way. so far i know we cannot swap engines or rebore it or add loud exhausts or change colour without RTO permission but there must be some legal performance & cosmetic enhancements we can do to our motorcycles right?
color of the bike is 'RED' and it's mentioned on my rc book also so i don't want to change it but can i paint the engine in black color from its current silver.. like new models?
1) So can anyone please tell me what performance/cosmetic modifications are allowed according to mumbai RTO ?
2) And could anyone please let me know a good mechanic/modification shop near chembur? if not chembur, then any other place in mumbai?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
I think you need to change scissor and balancer gear and nothing else is needed.Originally posted by @wrickomania View PostHello everyone, I own a p150 ug4.5 2013 model and this is my first post in this thread. My bike has done over a 35k kms running bone stock alongwith stock tyres and the chain sprocket set( no link cutting yet). After regular maintainance and sane riding still my bike gave up so early dnt knw why. The reason behind it is that the cyclinder head, valves , piston, clutch assembly, all gone kaput and is due for an immediate replacement.
This is how i have maintained my bike so far:-
1. Engine oil change- use mineral oil till 6k kms( changed it 6times in between at regular interval of 1k) , from 6k to 15k ive used SS oil ( oil changed at evry 1.5k kms) from 15k till now have been using FS oil which i have changed evry 2500 km. All oils being motul 3000,5100,7100 respectively nd grade 20w50.
2. Airfilter - didnt clean instead changed it evry 2-3k kms.
3. Battery - charged regularly and changed after 2yrs
4. Brakes pads - front changed two times being with a 15k interval, rear shoe changed twice.
5. Regular greasing of all the bearings changing them at regular intervals, tightening all the bolts, changed spark plugs evry 10k kms
6. Regular washing, servicing, cleaning carb, petrol tank , chain cleaning n lubing
7. My riding style- never cross 40 within city, always changing gear within 4k rpm,no half clutching n all, maintaining constant 70-80 kmph at highways during weekend rides. Checked top speed only once that too for a few secs and slowed down.
Now guys tell me have i made any mistake in maintaining as well as riding? If i have then plz tell and if i hvent then how come my bike gave up so early? Recently while riding my bike stopped suddenly after giving jerks and refused to start again. After going to my mech he started the bike by pouring some engine oil through the main spark plug hole and used the kick simultaneously for a few seconds. The next day i went to him a made him open the engine a check properly of what has happened. He then showed me that the valves had become black in colour , the piston nd the rings have worn out, the clutch still had life but i only told him to change the assembly. I know that if there is engine oil consumption or white smoke coming out then its reason is the worn out piston nd its rings but in my case neither there was any smoke or any mobil consumption.
One last question, as i am changing the piston, valves, clutch together so do i also need to change the timing chain, camshaft, scissor n balancer gear with their bearings ? Wont the engine make more noise if i use old parts with new ones like old cam with new piston? Pls guys help me out here im totally confused and need my babe to come back to life again as good as new.
For the above caused issue, I'm not understanding why those parts worn out, even though u have maintained the bike very well. Consult other mechanics once, as there may be some misguiding.

Re: New Pulsar 150 dtsi Gearbox Problem after 1st servicing
I think they didn't clean the clutch assembly while doing the first free service,as we all know that , BS center people are there to simple wash and refilling the oil😋. Kindly take care of that issue, tell them to clean RIGHT-HAND SIDE engine parts this time.Originally posted by Agredinesh View PostHello,
I purchased pulsar 150 dtsi bike 2 months before. Lastly i had done free servicing at bajaj center at 580 Km. After servicing the clutch was made hard by them, i and also my friends felt like that. After 1000 Km i am facing some problems.
1) The gearbox feels hard sometimes when increasing gears.
2) Gearbox makes noise when downshiftng the gears.
3) The gearbox sometimes slips back when shift from 4th to 5th when i am in speed around 35 to 40 kmph.
Previously i was not facing ssuch issues. The issues arrived after 1st servicing where they changed engine oil and made little bit hard clutch. currently bike ran 1200 km. Please suggest why this problem i am facing. Thanking You.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Head was in good condition until the bore and piston was changed 2 months back, I beleive something wrong happened while they re-fit the head back,Originally posted by vvk1999 View PostOvertighteneing of exhaust bolts can cause the crack . Or external impact on exhaust causes it.
as you mentioned they could have overtighten the exhaust bolts.
But the leak started only after a month after the bore change, So I am confused.
Forgive me, if it's a plain stupid question, Is this could be because of new bore and piston installed with a old head?,
, I am more concerned not to have this crack problem again.
Attached leak pics of Head- Old

Overtighteneing of exhaust bolts can cause the crack . Or external impact on exhaust causes it.Originally posted by Mugesh Sri View PostSorry for replying late, Yes Pickup is good and the exhaust smoke is normal
Anyhow, I took the bike another service center yesterday
They found there was a crack on the cyclinder head near the right side of exhaust pipe. which was causing the leak.. I had replaced the bike Head..
so Far I ride some 50 kms and no leaks found.Hoping not to find any more issue.....
But Not sure, what could have caused to head to crack!!!!!..
Thanks for your inputs....
