My bike dies at low rpm
Guys please help me..
They say first love is unforgettable,so is the first ride,.Maybe thats why i have decided to fix up my old p150 ug2(2005 model) when so many people told me to sell it.I got the cyclinder kit changed about a year ago. Then i replaced the clutch case, swimgarm bush and wheel bearings.Im currently waiting for my bikes wiring kit to arrive. The problem is that now when i ride for about 5-10 kms my bike gets overheated so much. Also after riding about 5kms my bike dies at low rpms, like when i slow down to take a turn or when im downshifting.when rpm comes down the bike starts to stall and when it happens i try to give it gas and all that does is produce a weird sound(like air leaking coming out of the carb) from the carb and then the bike dies. Then if i start the bike again,it idles fine but when i give it gas it just dies again. So what i did was that i started the bike and pulled the choke out rode for a few seconds by pulling the choke(which was very hard to do by the way) and the i gave it full throttle and bike started to move again untill i came to the next turn and i repeated the whole process again.Even turning up the idle speed didnt seemed to work(but it worked one time but the bike was revving too much)
When i finally got home i noticed the bike was overheated like it was burning hot. There was a burnt smell and white smoke was coming from the engine oil bay. Also the silencer's bend pipe(the part attached to the engine block) was very very hot.The weird thing is that the tail piece(outer end) was not hot at all.And i only rode about 6km when all this happened. So please guys help me out i dont know what the problem is.
Didnt get the time to show it to the mechanic since all this happened yesterday evening.
P.S: my silencers pipe is broken and i need to change my carbs diaphragm.
Thanks a bunch.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Hello, I do not have a chain cover since long. You can fit 120 with a chain cover, but it will be really bad in case of a flat. Also, the inside protruding part of the swingarm can be cut and weld shut if you like to.Originally posted by Nightrider46 View PostHi Parth, did you need to remove the chaincover to fit in the 120's? my local mechanic suggested doing the same as I want to go in for a 130 .

Re: Tyre upsizing
I ride on a 120/80 Zapper Vyde. But would suggest a 120/80 MRF Masetter if you want grip and cornering capabilities, Ralco Speedblaster 120/80 if you want a dual nature tyre.Originally posted by Nightrider46 View PostHello all,

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Hi Parth, I have cleaned the carburetor and checked all possible points mentioned in other pages. If I am fiddling with the air screw, the mileage goes max upto 40kmpl but the bike splutters and refuses to go beyond 80kmph and the spark plug tips are white, or engine is running lean.Originally posted by MidnightEvil Parth View PostHave you checked the carburettor diaphragm ? The problem however is, that the mileage is still hovering around 33kmpl mark, irrespective of changing . I have gone through the entire 197pages since last 1 week, there are mentions of fiddling with the air screw and keeping it at 3 to 4 turns, but the bike splutters a lot in 3-4 turns. I wish to know whether changing the main jet make this problem disappear?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
My 2006 Pulsar 150 DTSi consumes 1 Ltr of engine oil every month, so I have to get it replenished every month. Is that okay or is there a problem?

Pulsar 150 UG III - Engine Knocking Sound - Suggestions
Hello bike lovers!
I have got a Pulsar 150 UG III - Red Black Cocktail.
She's now 8 years old and she's run 33k till now.
I am a rash driver. But till now she's been saying nothing to my rash driving but last week I was riding her at around 90kmph where suddenly she lost the rev altogether and then the engine turned off. Then I self started her and she was back on but then the engine started making a typical knocking sound "tik tik tik tik". Now this sound is not that loud but its irritating and it stops if I don't rev very hard or if moving at a constant pace.
Today I went to bajaj SC to get that taken care of and they quoted me 15k for the repair.
They said they have to change the piston and along with that all the other surrounding parts will be changed too.
I think 15k is way too much for the repair.
Please advise.

And other option is another mechanic recommended somewhere in some xbhp thread but whose workshop is quite far from my house
As said in my previous post, you can assume that the prices of all parts, even if they increase will not go up by rs1000.
Just replace those parts that i have mentioned. you will be good to go for sure.

Everything is said and all prices were mentioned. You will get a clear idea. Valve lapping and head cleaning is included in labour cost RS500.
The total price should not be more than RS1000 from what i have mentioned, for the mentioned parts and service.

Re: Pulsar 150 UG2 CDI coil problem
Hi,Originally posted by ankurvik View PostHi.... I need serious help for my pulsar 150 dtsi ug2 2004 model.
My pulsar had an issue that it suddenly failed to start, and after 10 minutes it starts successfully. So i found this problem with my CDI coil (DH11 1019) l, but i can not find this original part so i replaced it with other part with number DH11 1056 , with this CDI i never faced starting problem but i faced misfiring issue at higher RPMs. what can i do now can any one help with this because i have tried many CDI coils with different part numver and the original i.e.(DH11 1019) is not available anywhere.
DH11 1056 is for Pulsar UG2 2005 model. In pulsars, CDI change with other models causes serious misfirings.
also the above part(DH11 1056) is discontinued by Bajaj (because of regular failure, in my bike it was failed 2 times) and was replaced with DJ 11 1017 (Pulsar 180 CDI)
When my bikes CDI failed, some less knowledge bajaj mechanics fitted with DH 11 1019(your bikes), DH 11 1061 (2006 UG3 model) and DH 11 1064 (upto 2008 UG3 models) CDI's , all of them shown serious misfiring.
I think your bikes CDI (DH11 1019) is also discontinued and was replaced with another better version. You go to the main Bajaj Spare parts dealer in your city. In their system, they have the database of new part numbers for old parts.
they have shown me the same in their system, when i was in a dilemma whether to buy the new part or not.
You will surely find the new one. And one thing dont waste your money on mechanics advise on buying a CDI.

(Page 153, Post #1529)Originally posted by _kamikaze_ View PostHi all, My bike has been slowly drinking oil and having crossed 53k kms, I think piston/bore replacement is due. I want to know what all parts are usually changed along with the piston/bore ? My mechanic told me they'd have to change the timing chain, valves, tappets, camshaft etc etc. Do all these parts actually need to be changed
He gave me a cost estimate of 10k-12k minimum. Although they do good work, over time I kinda feel that with the smallest of issues, they prefer replacing the parts, I may be mistaken but I'd like a second opinion.
Another Bike point mechanic told me to just keep topping up the oil and drive on
On my insistence, he gave me a quote of around 5-6k to replace the bore/piston.
I'm confused as to which one to trust
If anyone knows any good mechanics in the Pashan/Baner/Hinjewadi area in Pune, please do suggest

Hi,Originally posted by samuel1970 View PostI own pulsar 150 ug2 2006 model. I get 55 kpl in highway. There is no white smoke, but oil level decrease fast. Top speed very low. I think of changing piston kit with pulsar 150 new model. Which model can I use. I want to use 4 fitment hole chain sprocket instead of 6 fitment hole chain sprocket. What parts should I change in the rear wheel for this. Is it advisable to change crank shaft. If so which model can be used. Should I change clutch plate. I want more mileage in highway.
you are lucky
me too in same dilemma when it came to sprockets. No need to change alloy wheel or sprocket hub.
Pulsar 150 has 15T front and 44T rear sprockets (Older ones 6 fitment holes, From UG3 it is 4 holes)
Just ask Chain sprocket kit of 15T Front 42T Rear 6-Fitment hole Pulsar sprockets. (It is actually older Pulsar 180 sprockets).
They whole chain kit is perfect fit and it is current setup in my bike(6 fitment holes).
You will lose some Inital pickup and bike feels lazy in first gear. But midrange and Topend punch is ultimate. The bike just climbs speed with out stress after 4 RPM. No 150cc(leave r15 and cbr) is a match for this fitment. The chain kit is almost stock unlike O-ring chain types. I initially thought of changing alloy and sprocket hub of 4 fitment holes for fitting another Pulsars sprockets to have more speed at lower rpm. But i found the older P180 sprocket kit is suitable and dropped the idea of changing the alloy and hub.
But if you are in city and like the Initial pickup, you may not like this setup.
This information is nowhere present in Xbhp till now. but now i got time to update it
