That statement he made was in the heat of the moment and random websites are throwing it around like it is some big deal!

not sure why people have been thinking until now that the championship was mostly over for rossi..he still has a better chance at winning it than lorenzo considering the fact that it's happened several times in the past that a top level rider started from the back of the grid and managed to achieve a top 6 position (rossi has done so multiple times already in the past, marquez too and even lorenzo did that in assen 2013 with broken and freshly plated collarbone injury). granted valencia has not been a good track for rossi in the past and probably is least to his liking, but i am pretty sure he'll be at least 6th if not more..plus it's not going to be easy for lorenzo to be ahead of dani and mm either because both the honda riders are usually very strong in valencia as well, and lorenzo's history at valencia hasnt exactly been so positive either...most importantly, rossi has a 7 point lead over jorge which makes life much harder for the latter and much easier for the former as far as managing the valencia race is concerned.

therefore, rossi has a much better chance at winning the title than lorenzo..it's just become a tad more difficult for him due to the penalty, that's all..rather it's more difficult for lorenzo than it is for rossi due to the 7 points gap..for lorenzo it has to be a win or a second, anything less and he will have to pray for rossi getting held up far behind which is not so likely tbh.

There will always be a drama(often bloody) when a Lion king is challenged by a younger male in the lion kingdom.

Try disproving an aged teacher/prof in the class while teaching/professing. I've seen both kinds of professors, mature/immature.

Like Stoner once said to Rossi, "Obviously your ambition outweighed your talent."

I want more drama, it should be worth my time; perhaps more than the previous one.

You are blaming Rossi! Can't you see the cunningness of Marquez? Rossi @ 36 yrs of age deserved a clean race dude.😭
The incident which you're quoting was in April 2011- Round 2 of the Championship. Here, we are talking about the penultimate race. So much pressure.
Argentina (where Marquez fell down in the penultimate lap, which Marquez is blaming on Rossi) was a completely racing incident. Yamaha's take wider lines into corners as they've more corner speed while Honda's take the inner line.
While the Sepang incident was purely dirty racing by MM93 which was intentional. Even Marquez agent Emilio Alzamora confirmed this!
The last line,"Obviously your ambition outweighs your talent" should be told to Marquez. He's the one that attempts impossible braking manoeuvres and has the highest crash rate in Motogp (Again proof of it). This is not a Moto 3/2 race. This is the elite class. Granted MM93 is new to the circuit & probably will learn to ride sanely in the future with age though.

While afaik, Rossi never rode like this. Yes, he does do deep braking but never have I seen him do the "Impossible ones" which would put the life of his & others in danger. At this rate, don't be surprised if Alex Marquez also outweighs his ambition over his talent.[emoji14]

Rossi at one point questioning if Marquez had ever had his poster on his bedroom wall as a boy, illustrating how much space Rossi had given Marquez inside his head.
Historically, Rossi has been the alpha male of MotoGP.

Not related to the incident but to motorcycle racing in general by Mat Oxley. He tweeted this (Do Read) -

Jack Daniels. You should relax man. It is just motorcycle racing. There are far more important things in the world to work yourself up for!!!

@ Others Those who read the Soup piece a couple of posts above, please only read the Burgess quote, ignore the rest of Dean Adams article. He has always been biased against Rossi, doesn't make for level headed journalism!

what i find hilarious, is that ant west thinks he needs to "let" Rossi pass him.

what is he smoking? hope it's not that stuff he was on in 2012.

he won't have to worry about "letting" Rossi through... it'll be over before turn 3.

With all due respect sir. I think you missed the point by a mile.

It is not whether Rossi goes past in the first 10 metres of the light going out or on the last lap.

It is the disrespect of asking a racer to roll over and die, so that someone's hero goes past. These guys risk their lives and give up a lot and then to be told that they shouldn't put up a fight is sad and disrespectful to the immense talent that every one of them possesses.
