    The official press release
Buoyed by the success of the deluxe and premium segment bikes, India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd today unveiled three new bikes – SZ, SZ-X and YBR 125 in a bid to give Indian masses the Yamaha edge of quality, performance, & design. Lending a spark to the occasion was Bollywood hunk and Yamaha’s brand ambassador to India, John Abraham, a passionate biker himself.

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Yukimine Tsuji, CEO & MD, India Yamaha motor pvt ltd said : the launch of SZ, SZ-x and YBR 125 is in line with Yamaha’s true commitment to provide world-class products to its customers, SZ, SZ-X and YBR 125 models have been designed and engineered down to the finest details for maximum comfort for the rider. Ideal combinations of power, comfort & style, SZ & SZ-X have been designed with a strong focus on quality and performance. YBR 125 on the other hand is stylish and has good ergonomics for comfortable day-to-day commuting. We are confident that these bikes will capture the imagination of a whole generation of bikers who are looking for something extra.

Talking about the company’s association with john Abraham, he said “our association with john has evolved into a strong relationship. A passionate biker himself, john has added a new dimension to our brand image. As an advisor also, he has given his value additions towards our company’s initiatives.

Powering the SZ & SZ-X is the all new 4-stroke air-cooled, SOHC single cylinder engine with 153cc that has been tuned for optimum performance i.e. low to mid speed range thereby ensuring a stress-free ride on Indian roads. The bikes are equipped with AI system and a large capacity muffler with catalyser for cleaner exhaust.

The bikes flaunt some cutting edge design structures like the headlight cowl with 3-d slanting line which along with a sporty fender with split look enhances the look of the bike. There is a large capacity 14L fuel tank which gives the ability to go the extra mile. The long cushioned seat ensures comfortable riding position enabling a straighter back and extra comfort while commuting long distances. SZ-X is also equipped with some of the finest technologies like electric starter and a windscreen to cut inward air swirl, thus making a hassle free riding experience for the rider.

Adding to SZ and SZ-X charisma are the sophisticated meter panel, shroud with dynamic image, modern look dual tail lights, full plastic chain case ( gives protection from dust and water), robust side cover and 5-spoke cast wheel.

SZ will be available in two colors – Black and Red while SZ-X will be available in three colors – Black, Red and Grey Metallic.

The new YBR-125 , on the other hand, has chiseled looks and enthralls the commuter with a comfortable riding experience. The bike is targeted towards the executive segment customer who want a commuter bike that has a universally accepted design, gives a feeling of solidity & robustness and satisfactory mileage at an affordable price. The bike is equipped with 123cc engine and 4-speed gearbox. YBR 125 will be available in three colors – Red, Black and Black-Red colors. Booking of the bikes will start immediately.

This bike runs on TVS Tyres. I can already see people falling!!

Btw, the Bike somewhat resembles the Flame from rear three-quarters. Whatever it is, this bike will sell really well.

Awesome Coverage..!!! Kudos.. Take a Bow.

How did the bike feel to ride, 12 Ps sounds a bit low compared to the 14-15 Ps 150's that we have around.

By the way the SZ-X looks muscular and "well fed" (from Sunil G's pics) than the Honda Dazzler..!!

The YBR 125 is not a new bike. It's just the Fazer launched again,in new stickers and with the looks of the Gladiator. And Gladiator was a Fazer with a 5 speed gearbox and a different front.
God,Yamaha is reading too much of HH's books.

                  it looks good

don't worry about its power guys,
they might compensate it with launching Race Kits for SZ150...

On a serious note, the customer of this price band where it falls i.e. 45-50k, doesn't care about the CC or BHP, they simply go for the "looks" of the bike...

yeah agreed but the customer in india will definitely make their choice based on small things like digital console, disc brakes because these things are directly visible when buying a bike and even the salesperson focusses on stuff like disc brakes....

The SZ-X kind of loses the low priced 150 cc USP when one takes notice that at Rs. 52,000 one doesn't get front disc brakes (forget Digital display).

The price of the other variant SZ appears very enticing at Rs. 49,000, but then it doesn't get Disc brakes and also a Self Start.

Even 100 cc bikes have self start these days.

+1. Really the kind of coverage that we guys wait for.

Yamaha did everything right (12ps is not a problem) except for not adding the front disc brake. Anyways I don't think its not that far away.

Loved the way the rear tail lamp cluster is designed. Treat to eyes
