  • Frankly i had thought the way it had priced its scooter competing with honda the same it would do with the Mojo to compete with R15 or ZMR, but i feel its costing close to 2 lakhs for a 25 bhp which is merely 4bhp increase over the p220 which is 3 times lesser than mojo,

If mahindra is thinking that this bike will sell in hot numbers like the R15 for whatever price they will keep than frankly i think they need to wake up as Yamaha had studied the mass segment very well before launching the R15 and FZ16 so this bikes were the game turner for yamaha india, again there are TVS, Yamaha, Honda, Bajaj, who may come and fill the gap and price the same segment bike close to 1.2 or 1.3 lakhs

Even the commuter segment bike is not really great enough to create news.i feel TVS jive and star city created more news.

    R15 rules again

@moderators - please put the first test ride report in the newly launched XBHP magazine ASAP

How could Mahindra have priced a 300cc liquid cooled, 4 valve DOHC fuel injected Pirelli shod bike at similar price with ZMR? Or for that matter R15? The bike seems overpriced but I feel that this bike would have quality comparable to european bike.

isn't that a little too long to wait to publish "news" ?

Mojo would lose his mojo once the rest of the sub 350s get here.

                    - the 300cc/350cc Pulsar
                    - The VFR 250
                    - The Hyosung
                    - The Yamaha FZ250
                    - etc.

Pricing wise... the Big Pulsar itself would ruin it all for Mahindra.

Check out the video in the page... I am sure Honda has a bunch of 250cc bikes in its huge stable, but going by the fact that its a single cyl, the looks of the bike would probably be like the one in the video... no point putting loads of fairing if the character of the engine is not in sync with it.

And Mahindra, congrats for at least having the ball$ to tread in the 225+ cc section. You need better marketing guys though (what does 'Flower Power' have to do with packing Testosterone? [FB link]).. and some better designers too.

EDIT: link picked up from this thread only

So here we have, if you want profits, make a poser bike not a performance bike!
I doubt.. even Posers will buy it.. Since at 1.75 lakhs.. Posers will not find it good enough. At almost 2 lakhs on road.. people will look for 2nd Hand ninja.
At 2.25-2.4 lakhs. Even if I go for 2 lakh bike.. I would want to buy a 2nd hand Ninja.

This bike will come out as good for tourers. who are not really bothered about how it looks.
Why Road Safety campaigns are not impacting people?

                            Exactly!!

Posers would never look towards this bike. In fact, there's nothing really (aesthetically) in this bike to flaunt. It will appeal to those who cannot afford a "new" Ninja and at the same time console themselves with those extra 50 'ceecees'.This bike's asking price from Mahindra is slightly higher. The premium charged on an item is a birthright of the Japanese and they can get away with it but for a company like Mahindra they have to work it out cautiously especially in the wake of the upcoming competition in the form of Honda/Bigger Pulsars and Yamaha/TVS(may be).

But whatever it is, Kudos to Mahindra for bringing out a Breakthrough product in the market. I just wished it would have been priced slightly better.1.5-1.6 lakhs OTR would have been a wee bit sweeter.

PS:Posers fall for fully-faired bikes, AFAIK!!

                            • One Word ... Dissapointed!

I dont know but looks like another Murfy's Law:

"If an Indian Company comes right with the looks, the engine will be puny and if they come right with the engine, the looks will suck".

I mean which designer in right mind would approve this design that too in 2010 for a country which is at their patience threshold, waiting endlessly to get their hands on a decent sports bike .. I mean .. Come on!

I have seen designs floating in our forum which are better than this freak

Well .. I still appreciate Mahindra bringing this engine to town thou
Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE - The word itself says I M POSSIBLE.
