Agree too. Though even with current pricing, I think RE has cause to worry. Come to think of it, the Mojo is the only bike close to RE in term of price, characteristics, size etc. Only better (my opinion). Was I in the market for RE, I would surely give Mojo a serious thought. But then, my taste is on the sporty side.Originally posted by tallkien View Post

The riding position on the Mojo can be best described as relaxed and comfortable. That's what I earlier meant that it "felt" like a contemporary Thunder bird minus the chrome.
With the Wide handlebars and front set foot pegs, i don't think that the Mojo is an ideal tool to get your knee down.

No rearsets? Damn!

Yeah Especially with the price tag it's waving around, This Italian Tested Bike's got to face the moderators of the test now!!! And I think it's got a lot to live upto! I just hope the reviews of this bike come in great I've really been wanting to buy a bike Since Like APRIL 2010!!! So This has to be it and if the reviews are bad...then I guess its the KAWASAKI Ninja 250R OR the KTM Duke 125 for me LOL :-pLast edited by joshzma225; 10-11-2010, 06:47 AM.Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

After nearly 20 years of riding REs I think I'm ready for a changeOriginally posted by kaynmantis View PostAgree too. Though even with current pricing, I think RE has cause to worry. I still love them old thumpers but I'm terribly dissapointed with the company and its apathy towards its customers, especially with regards to genuine spares. The mojo is a welcome breath of fresh air for all of us who are quite frustrated with Enfield India. (When you blow two pistons in two months you know its time to move on to better things...)
...personally I've been saving up for the GT650 but we'll see...maybe common sense might get the best of me... who knows...fingers crossed

Granted they are both belong to different genres but five years ago when I bought my bird I didn't go looking for a retro bike, I just wanted a big-gish one and although I bought what is generally regarded a cruiser it certainly wasn't one for me and my 6'2" frame so I changed things to make a roadster out of it and was all the happier for it. I really couldn't care less about genre at the time.Originally posted by rkboy View PostI think Mojo falls into a different genre of bikes which cannot be compared to the likes of RE.If you have 1.5L and are into retro bikes you will definitely not think twice about RE.
I can't speak for everyone but for me styling is secondary. Fundamentally the bike has to comply with what I want it to do and despite changing a lot on my own bike it only served to highlight its inherent limitations. Funny thing is... I discovered real riding nearly 2 decades after first mounting a bike
(thanks in no small part to xbhp) and now the enfield just doesn't cut it for me anymore*.
Today with 1.5L in hand if I was going to buy a new bike I would think twice and that's my point. The mojo is a veritable alternative for those who want something different and therein lies the comparison. The bull has always been the symbol of raw machismo and it will undoubtedly remain so... now here comes this new age metrosexual with high hopes and oodles of character that's got me drawing them into a contest where there should ideally be none, but then I ride an enfield so my perception may be very different from anyone else's. You should also know this comparo wasn't intentional, it just grew on me the more I looked at this machine.
Today my needs have changed, drastically I might add and moreover there's a lot to chose from but if I was going to consider buying another enfield now I would give the mojo a very serious lookover, hope that makes sense.
*disclaimer: I intend no slander to the marque that is Enfield, just venting my own frustrations from a very long and eventful relationship...but darling, I think I want a divorce

yea i did register, but after browsing through their forums I realized that a chunk of the folks who won the contest are active members on that forum... the judges were folks who run/own that site, so obviously they were shown preference!Originally posted by xionite View Post^^^ members as in???
isn't there a login/register area on the website?
And I agree with rkboy, I seriously fail to see how a spunky roadster like Mojo can give competition to the brand that RE is. People buy thumpers for a whole bunch of reasons ranging from passion, the don't mess with me attitude that goes with a thumper, the thump itself To her road handling skills and long distance cruising comfort. I don't see any of these qualities being challenged by the Mojo save the last one, that hasn't been proved as yet..we need to get a real ride report first, not by the contest winners but by folks who paid for the bike and will write straight.
If Mojo is a hit and lives upto it's billing then it logically it will make elbow space between the Yamaha R15 & Kawasaki Ninja, one which lacks and the other which is in excess speaking from an Indian market viewsigpic

Looks good to me. Looks good on paper. Wonder what the actual hands on performance would be like. And the handling will also have to be checked.
Loved the name, "Mojo". Any Blues lover would like such a name. But then since 85%+ people in our country do not know what blues is all about, this might not appeal to them! The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!
