Agree. But in CBR case, there are contrasting reviews on the same fronts. One says good handling on tracks too, another says not meant for the tracks and so do not expect much.Originally posted by saurabh81 View PostNinja: Pricy, dated instruments
P220: Vibrations, lacks quality

Lets hope the delivery bikes have that premium quality.

sorry if my post made you feel so.. But my post was in general.. And not pointing anyone.. And i also dont have any problem with people giving -ves of the bike.. In fact it helps a few people.. But my post was targeted to people who keep wrong expectations from this bike.. And so are dissapointed.. I myself have given out the negatives of cbr pages back..but then i knew what i expect from this bike and i felt it kept my expectations very well..
So it was just to say that people who are confused between bikes need to understand and judge their needs and accordingly decide..not just critisize a product just because they expected it to perform as something double its price.. Dissapointment is guaranteed then..
No offense to anyone.. General advice to everyone..Afterall its you who spends and you who rides.. So think wisely and always try to buy what you need and not what you can afford..
i guess, when the bike was launched in thailand.. The specifications were out too.. And they made the intensions of the bike very clear.. So why still the mindset just because the name..? Is naming the bike in our hands.? If not, then why worry about that? The product is more important.. And though still not able to keep your expectations.. Atleast we should be happy as it has ignited a race for more powerful bikes in india at affordable cost..Originally posted by shivaprasad.ms View PostAgree. What Honda names this bike is upto them (CBR or VFR). When you are going to purchase a bike it is upto you to ensure that it meets your requirements. It has been mentioned time and again that CBR is more of a tourer which can be taken to the tracks occasionally. It is a bike which can travel in the city with ease as well as cruise on the highways at 130-140 comfortably. If you need a track tool go for the ninja or the R15. The CBR is not the right bike for you. Please set your expectations right before you take the plunge.Originally posted by shivaprasad.ms View PostAgree. Its the very naming after CBR and the contrasting VFR looks that violated the intentions. I personally feel it is natural to get such confusions.Originally posted by MeTaL_MaNiaC View Post

But in the end, the product is only what it is and we have to take it as it is. But, some like me, cannot get over the brand impact, the brand which has established itself over many decades, quite early. I might need time to digest this violation and may be when I ride the bike, I might forget every fuss about it

Some 1-1.5 years back, I remember reading in some website that, in future, all the Honda bikes would be having a VFR-ish headlight design. Probably that's the reason, CBR 250R was designed that way and has a VFR resemblance. I don't know how far that news is true, but if its true, we might see many more Honda bikes with the same look. We might even see the future "CBR Superbikes" with the same styling.
And we all know that CBR 250R is not VFR 250 because of the "V" thing which is not in the bike.Sudeep P Nambiar

Guys what is CBR according to HONDA?
CBR = City Biking & Racing
VFR = V4 Racing (4 Cylinder)
So 250R is perfect considering the name CBR!
The fireblade, hornet and other blades should have not been named CBR considering the fact that they are Track Tools and not 'meant' for city riding :P
So stop blabbering over R15/N250R/ZMA/ZMR/CBR/MT01, etc etc!!!!!
I still have to see the CBR in flesh but I am stuck coz of my exams
I hope I get mine in June after my exams finish.
I saw some people saying the mud will get stuck on the radiator so it will hamper the performance
What to do about that as I plan to drive in rains too :P
So what all should I do?I feel like Peter Parker when I drive my Hunk in the city but I become Spiderman when I am on my CBR swinging from one lane to the other on expressways.
My Stable:
2009 & Present: HH Hunk Limited Edition [Red Striker]
2011 & Present: Honda CBR 250R [Black Blade]

Honda has clearly stated "Helping as many riders as possible experience the fun of a super sport bike"
I do not want to fuel this war therefore was just reading this thread and not commenting on anything. But we need to understand one thing that everyone has there own set of expectation from a bike. If the bikes fulfills/exceeds our expectation then we are happy and post our comments on this thread similarly if the expectation of a person is not met then he also has the right to put it over here.
The bottom line is that everyone needs to decide for themselves if you like it then no one is stopping you from buying it and if you do not then you can take back you booking amount and book the bike which you like.
PEACE

Yes man, Honda has messed up in the naming. Its time for Honda to get back to roots :POriginally posted by HH_HUNK View PostGuys what is CBR according to HONDA?

Oops! Sorry to disturb your exam preparations with these fussings. Good luck for your exams
Its me who said about the mud on the radiator. I am no good an expert to suggest a solution. Nevertheless, I feel, Honda could provide some mud catch behind the front wheel like what R15 has.Last edited by shivaprasad.ms; 05-03-2011, 06:29 PM.

Another bull**** news from hondas. I called them in morning, n they have no clue wen test drives will start and they have only bloody reason that its still not launched here. They have bike in display, they are booking and even committed me for monday for a test drive, n still this thing is not launched. What is this, a space rocket, which needs months for a LAUNCH ....

I told them people are getting deliveries in other cities, than what's the deal here... again same reason... not launched yet, even on asking when i will be able to get a test ride, they said they will call me , hv no clue.... It really sucks...!!!"Pain is temporary , pride is forever"

Honda naming convention.
Found some info on the net regarding the CBR & VFR naming conventions.
First the meaning of CBR.
CBR evolved from the CB line-up. CB means City Bike. so the CBR means City Bike Race(r) or City Biking & Racing
And we all know that the 600rr and the 1000rr are based on the RC211V, so with that in mind, RR really does mean Race Replica
(Source: Google, Honda CBR 600RR Sportbike Forum : 600RR.Net)
The VF & VFR
The VF and VFR series (VF meaning Vee-Four, and VFR meaning Vee-Four Racing) was a motorcycle made by Honda and had a V4 engine. The bike was also the first to utilize a Sprag (one-way) clutch.

Buddy actually it is Honda because of which we have such high expectationsOriginally posted by bprags View PostAh, that was the post of the day buddy, nicely put
, it is our expectations that is letting us down.
If you go back to the previous page then I have put a link from Honda site where they themselves have mentioned that the CBR250R will be just like a super sport bike (though small in size) and if Honda says so then there ought to be high expectation from the bike.
