Mate did u ask them ( KUN ) for number of bikes in first 2 slots ? and when are you getting yours ?
I took a test drive at Kun Honda, Adyar yesterday.. After the ride I asked him , how many bikes they have received. He told me that they have a total of 4 bikes, of which only 1 is ABS and it is currently being used for test drives. There is another red-std for display.

He said they will be receiving the second lot sometime next week, in slightly more number, he was not absolutely sure in giving me a number but, he hinted 10. Hope it helps . and ya, he still says deliveries will TENTATIVELY begin from next week.

          • @ Pravu: Why do people expect a long wheelbase bike (CBR) to match a short wheelbase bike (R15) in agility?
These 250cc bikes are high speed bikes, read 160-170 kmph. They need longer wheelbases to be stable, and so despite being good at handling, can't match our R15 in agility.
Although, some magazine reviews think Agility = Handling. This is false. If this is so, wouldn't FZ1's handling be worst? [/QUOTE]

I very much know what you have said and that is the thing I want ppl to comprehend before jumping on any conclusion. Agility can be weight driven too where R15 has an edge over CBR.

Your bike is way better than babes, only thing is that you need a proper vision to mull over this fact. :D

            • Atlast the bike has arrived in TVM-Kerala a couple of days before. Saw the bike in flesh, liked everything except the silencer, seat cover quality and the rear brake lever. The bike is a great looker. Showroom guys told to give the TD only after 25th this month. As per the old Unicorn delivery style this one also has the delivery lag. coz they will be getting very few bikes per month.

Anyway he said it wil take a week fr display and an another for delivery. The big news is tey have only ONE booking for which a lakh is already paid. So I will be the nxt even if I book nxt week. They have four dealership so I might get it within a month of booking.!! Woohoo..;-)

But then there would be compromise elsewhere.. If this fits your needs.. Go for it.. Or wait for the thing you need.. We saying here that the CBR name doesnt justify or the price and quality not on par wont change anything out there.. Honda has already achieved an overwhelming response and have a
                    winner in hands..
I have booked the CBR too.. But that should not stop me from expressing what I felt was not up to the mark in the CBR according to me.. I booked the beike that doesn't mean that I should only be talking about the +ve aspects of the bike..
Everybody has the right to express their views here.. So do I..

BTW the test ride is happening in Saphire Honda (J.P Nagar) from this Friday as much as I know.. Fingers crossed.

                    • Hi friends i need some clarification on the delivery system. The showroom people are insisting that the delivery is more like centralized for cities. What he meant was even if i am the first one to book in one showroom of a mumbai but my delivery will be done as per my booking date. There is no allotment for specific showroom but based on which all date the showroom have booked the bike they will send the lot.

I made my booking on 28th of Jan and till date haven't received a single call from them.

They are saying that it may take more than a month from now to get mine

Example: If i am number 1 in one showroom and some1 is number 100 in another showroom but his booking date is before me than he will receive it before mine. Place of booking doesn't really matter.

Now that sounds a little fair to me but just want to know is it the case or the showroom guy is taking me for a ride.

Reason for being skeptic is that he took 30000 from a guy who booked his bike on 1st April but nothing from me yet.

If tats the case, I will wait for my turn. But the gud news for me is the Guy who has booked the bike till now is in my next street. So can have a detailed look at it. Btw tat chap is 45, a deparmental store owner.

Fyi, in my last visit to Silicon, last saturday, Ajaz, the MD, told me the test rides would probably start this Saturday or latest next Monday. Regarding deliveries, he told me my number 11 would fall in third lot. Each lot would have 4 bikes and there would be a gap of 8-10 days between successive consignments. By this, my delivery would happen in May end or early June. The riding window got pretty much closed due to monsoons
@ All who have booked CBR from BSK 3rd stage Silicon honda; I just called Mohseen, the bikes have been dispatched (test ride bikes only). Test rides will be given from Monday. He shall call me and confirm once again.

Name one bike which doesn’t have mixed feed back?
                            Ninja: Pricy, dated instruments
                            P220: Vibrations, lacks quality
R15: Tiny, Not so good rear end
the list goes on... it's because nothing is perfect...

What made you think it’s a pure sports bike??? Neither Honda wanted it to be, nor do any of the reviews say so, even none of the message in last 500 odd pages tells so...

It’s a Sports Commuter or to some extent a Sports Tourer. Hence no point in expecting mean looks or rev happy engine etc. It has what its meant to be, good looks, good torque in low and mid range etc...

You are expecting something from CBR what it is not and then you are blaming it for not being what it is not meant to be. The bike is right,
it’s your expectations which are in wrong direction..

It’s like blaming R15 for not being a good touring bike or lack of low end torque...

It's not "A stupid jack of all" bike it’s a versatile bike and has got what is needed from it: good looks and premium quality for daily commute and occasional tours...

Lets discuss the good or bad about the bike and not what it is not supposed to be...

P.S. I myself ride a R15 and like it for what it is. And booked a CBR for what CBR isJ.

It should be true in case the same dealership has more than one showrooms in that city/state. I'm not sure about it, its just my thoughts.

Yes, the the Ninja 250R is inferior to R15 in handling. I know it because I owned both in the past.
