The name is right with CBR250R, it misses the extra R that is related with the sportier generations of CBR ie. CBR600RR or CBR1000RR(popularly known as the Fireblade)

While on the other hand, the VFR name is given to Hondas which have V4 engines. So, you have Honda VFR800 and VFR1200.

Hence renaming the CBR250R with VFR is highly improbable.(atleast it doesn't have a V configured engine to begin with )

    Now,
It had been time since the CBR250Rs were launched in India..........so is there any ownership thread or experience up yet ?????

A couple of days ago, while having tea at a roadside stall in the evening,I observed a CBR250R float by.The bike is very silent, was doing around 65kmph.It goes without saying it is adding another feather to the refinement tag of Honda.

There's a power that comes from deep inside of you
'Cause every day you're reaching toward the light
And you know there's a long long way ahead of you
But when your wheels get you there,
            Things will turn out right!

Actually CBR1000R is naked version of fireblade (CBR1000RR) and is re-tuned for midrange performance, both of them uses the same engine tough.

So it would be incorrect to say that CBR250R naming is done based on CBR1000R because in that case it should be naked and not fully faired. The RR stands for Race Replica in CBR1000RR.

Anyways enough of the naming has already been discussed here and it does not matter what the bike is called, nobody is going to buy the bike based on the name it carries (exception being SBK) otherwise we wouldn't find any buyer for Karizma, twister, etc.

                • Hey guys I see so much arguments going on the name factor! I would suggest this trick to those who bother about the name too much but still want their Honda XXX250X. After getting your bike spend some more and rub the CBR tag and name it what ever which you feel will be apt !
I am happy calling it CBR250R!

If the names has to be taken too serious! here are my contributions. (Jus for fun and no offense!!)

Apache - Red Indian! - It is not fair they release yellow and white RTRs
                  R15 - If the great R1(my dream)is 1000cc were we expecting 15000cc ?
Ninja- Japanese martial art warriors good in stealthy movements and the use of camouflage, but our ninjas are attractive and never can try stealth mode .
Pulsar - A degenerate neutron star;rotates very fast and emits regular pulses of polarized radiation - hmm i am confused how to relate to a motocycle

the list goes on... it's because nothing is perfect...

You are expecting something from CBR what it is not and then you are blaming it for not being what it is not meant to be. The bike is right,

Lets discuss the good or bad about the bike and not what it is not supposed to be...

P.S. I myself ride a R15 and like it for what it is. And booked a CBR for what CBR isJ.
Brilliant post man. This is what is needed to stop the useless banter. But one stupid thing stops and another starts. Its like Obamas birth certificate.

My showroom people are saying that it is delayed because there is some official launch yet to happen all over Bangalore. I was pissed off, for some marketing gimmick, they are delaying the delivery of bikes that are already there in the warehouse.
Called up Honda centre at Bangalore, asked for the manager. He left it seems, so I called up the regional manager. The reason?
                    1. They got the RTO Approval only yesterday.
                    2. Now they have given for registration.
                    3. Launch is scheduled for this weekend.
                    4. Deliveries will start only by next week.

I was furious and started bashing him, talking about interest that Honda has accumulated over the deposit amount. Also said when delivery would commence, and to stop the crap about launch to me, for me what matters is my bike.
Guy started apologising. I just don't understand. What was the Honda South India doing when they knew such delays were evident, RTO thing is nothing new for them. How come they were not prepared for this? I would never ever suggest any person to buy Honda products, unless if its a CBR. Quality is important, but not over making a customer a complete fool.
Ajay sirrr! You're the man! We just bark here while we should have all done what you did Keep us updated

Thanks for your insight, especially the (RR)Race Replica part, well everyone can now realize why,the CBR250R is not as hardcore as the CBRxxxRRs.

But a small correction though, the naked version of Fireblade is called CB1000R and not CBR1000R.Hence CBR250R cannot be expected with the usual traits associated with CB and CBR RR models of Honda.

The nomenclature of CBR250R is apt for Honda, since it makes a class of its own.......neither sports, nor urban, but the all-rounder-good as a tourer.

Anyway thnx m8, I honestly dont feel its going to take that long. Its just an ignorant person on the phone (alteast I am hoping so).
