I think dealer are creating artificial demand in the market .
Dealer making artificial demand??? You mean the entire dealers in this country are making artificial demand??? Six months waiting period is the case in KL, TN & KA, AFAIK.

PS - Heard about VW Polo that has 6 months of waiting period just because VW didn't expect such a demand? My relative got it in 2 days. Its all upto the dealer & the rapport with them. Let's not bring such things into picture.

    • quick question..

where's the CBR being manufactured? Is there any bike other than the CBR and Enfield that has such ridiculous waiting periods? (bikes only, not scooters or cars)

I had a slight change of plans... i decided to go for a Red CBR since the dream honda guys didnt hv a clue on the next shipment of the Black CBR as i had originally booked...
Made the payment yesterday, & i would be getting the bike on Monday at 4pm. Feels like this is the most difficult time to pass.... can't wait till monday.

I would be carryng a printout of the checklist mentioned by Ajay, but if u guys think someting else also needs to be checked, please mention, i would make a note of the same.
Went into the godown yesterday n checked the red beauty... it was flawless with all bubblewrap packing etc.. checked the body thoroughly for scratches n panel gaps, but there were none...

Till now i never wished for a weekend to get over fast.... CBR has changed me...
Thank you very much..The wait is worth.

BTW I still ride the scooty.

Actually the deliveries up north are wayyy slower than down south..
Btw last week when i enquired about Activa/Dio waiting period the dealer said its 3 months.
It is funny because two months ago when i went to checkout the CBR they said the waiting period for activa/aviator/deo and Twister is just 1 month.
I guess the CBR production and delivery is affecting other models as well
the Dealer here is very lazy to say the least.. They took my number 2 months ago when the display models came in. They said they will call me once the bikes are registered for test rides. They never did even though there were only 12 names on the register.
Just had to get my Dio serviced this week(for the last time as its going to be traded for the CBR/ the new R15 at the end of this month) and noticed the place is undergoing renovation and the display bikes are nowhere to be seen
Hence ive decided to wait till i get the test ride and then book my ride(still having a hard time picking a color b/w black and red )
And i was told that the waiting period for CBR is "at the minimum 3 months sir"
I asked him how many bikes theyve sold till date and he looked like he was going to boast a big number and in the end he said 3-4
                  Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

If company cannot produce the bike then why the hell they are spending so much on advertisements . The worst thing is I sold my Pulsar 200 for buying this bike . Now I deeply regret for what I have done . I congratulate HONDA for keeping its reputation for late deliveries and making customers going mad!
beleive me brother u wont regret after u get ur bike and kinda forgive these ppl! its such an awesome machine ! i loved it! i got my bike three days b4 for jan1st booking!!!

                    • Another victim of the Honda dealers fooling game. I made my payment last week in Hasan honda pondy. I was told to take the delivery by this wednesday and got a call again today that they have got only ABS and not std which i opted for. They told me to take ABS if you want on wednesday else wait 2 more days(not sure) for next lot . If it had ABS on/off feature i would have gone for ABS. As for as i know i am a very patient guy, they are kind of testing my limits ! Only for my beauty I am holding my nerves!! I booked on 22-jan and i am 3rd booking there.

                        • Guys, I asked a dealer in Saharanpur about the bike and he told me that only 1000 units are being manufactured every month, and they are being distributed all over India.

Same happened to me too. I was promised of my red-std arrival this 9th or 10th. Last week I was updated that in place of red-std, Honda has delivered black-std in the lot expected to arrive on 9th or 10th. I was similarly given options to take black-std or wait for red-std for time unknown

I guess it should be less than 1000. If its 1000 they should have delivered bikes to everyone who booked from jan to feb/march....but thats not the case now.

Guys any idea how to check if my dealer has booked for a test ride bike really

Is the booking amount refundable even now?
I reside in trivandrum, my native is tamilnadu. Is it possible to register the bike in tamilnadu if i buy from trivandrum?? Something like temp registration?

                              • vroom vroom......the call of the machine

After a lot of home works and mental strains, I am now settled with the new kid on the block. Tomorrow is the delivery day and I have availed two days EL from my office. The excitement is somehow piled up type when I compare to the moments of getting a Pulsar 220dtsfi and Yamaha R15. I guess the level of excitement has more or less to do with cc . Well, the Ninja booking is still on and am gonna cancel it day after tomorrow. I would be losing 4k on the process but never mind.

The last minute confusion is to choose between a red abs or black one? Can you guys help me out on this? I have already sickened my brain cells a lot, so I expect you guys to throw a hasty helping hand. Sudeep, Jerk, others, are you listening dudes?
