  • Just saw the bike..

I happened to visit the Malad showroom yesterday and this is what I have to say of the CBR. Didnt take any pictures as they simply dont do justice. You got to see this baby in flesh.

Looks big, is compact, seat height little lower than the Zma. Heck it appeared like a baby VFR than a CBR! Build quality looks good, meaty forks and a very cool instrument cluster. Blue backlit looks Civic-ish. Meaty tyres. The only disappointing bit is the tank, a mere 13L! Thats is just NOT enough. considering 2L reserve, one gets 30 kpl from 11L, ie just 330kms on a tankful, thats so not enough. Am sure fuel tank mods will be carried out by pros who will buy her. Honda quality is bang on, I am satisfied.

Deliveries will commence in April after the so called 'official/formal' announcement, is what the showroom guy said.

Mods: you dont care really what the noobs are bringing to this thread do you( double posts, sms lingo etc). If you do, kindly step in today. Its a Sunday.

Sure you spotted the switch? Thailand C250R's they have DRL. Considering the fact that the first lots are imported from Thailand, shouldn't they be having a DRL too? (unless they've 2 product lines)

But now that the bike is launched, this EPIC thread will go down too

This thread had become one of the main reasons why I visit xBHP so frequently!!!

                  • Hello everyone,
This is my first post.. Been a silent (and lazy - Procrastination FTW! ) reader for ages until finally i decided to create a new account and post. My earlier account was ages old so i presumed that it'll be dead (didn't remember login details anyway).

Nonetheless, here's my booking story - I booked my red CBR 250R from Pashankar Honda in Pune on 11-01-11 (and another one for a cousin in the last week of Feb). The sales guy told me that mine was the 7th / 8th booking and that i would get the bike as soon as the deliveries start. I'm not really happy about the way Pashankar Honda has treated me as a customer for a bike that is worth 1.5L. Not that i'm asking them to treat me like a prince but what i got was vague answers / unattended phone calls / waiting in queue for the booking amount payment (always thought the sales rep is supposed to do it, right?).

Anyway, The last time I called the sales rep was 3 days back when he told me that the (initial) launch news was fake and that he would call in the second week of April when they'll get pricing details about the bike.. Just wanted to know if there's anyone else who's gone through the same with Pashankar Honda... Completely average customer service!

And yes, like everyone else who's booked his bike, CAN'T WAIT!! :-|

P.S.: Been following this thread.. Haven't seen many bookings from Pune here... Or is it just my ignorance? :-|

P.P.S.: n00b killers - please be kind.. else excuse this post :P

                    Cheers,

                    • May there should be a thread on how many bookings from which city or just a simple google doc would do! People can enter their details here and we would know how many bookings are made!

First lot imported from Thailand?? Are you sure?? AFAIK, all these bikes will be manufactured in India itself. No bikes are getting imported here. Thats what I've heard from Dealers and Honda's Regional Office.

Congratz for booking. Well even I dont know how many people from Mumbai booked it
Its quite few, only me and metal maniac AFAIK!

Well me & my dad were given a good treatment, I admit before booking I made two rounds just seeking details and those guys were not interested in me but when I came with dad and I said I want to book it then they were like Chameleons man so rapid change in their body language and talking sense :P

Edit: This is the SpreadSheet for everyone who booked a CBR.

Please care to enter details and also Edit if you feel some more details are required

I am doing this so that we can be in touch after getting our CBRs and as per chicmagnet's idea

The OTR is comparatively less than other cities ..

Nice bike. I am no expert in the technical aspects of a motorcycle but for me it looked good. The front number plate is, well.. We checked the welding on the main frame inside the front fairing and the work wasn't that good. Most members agreed to it. Rear tyre looks awesome and so does the tyre hugger. Console is pretty neat without any complications and exposed metal parts like the R15. Bike sure gives the big bike feel. Fairing at some places was creaking. The rear tail-lamp section was a bit loose. Well that's about it. I'll let the experts speak. Single horn(so it may be weak).
