  • Mates, little OT: after hearing that Duke will be DOHC & next gen Pulsar will be SOHC, I was wondering about the difference & their utility. I found a good site & wanted to share it with all.

I don't think Duke will devalue it brand by allowing some other bike (be it Bajaj) to be repainted and pose as duke. By what we can tell from the pic, its probably is a new Pulsar with elements borrowed from Duke.

            • The blog says Pulsar 2012. But the engine sure is KTM (notice the orange KTM Racing on the engine block)

              newbajajpulsar

Is this really the new pulsar? or is this how the KTM would look like (add badging/stickering etc)

If this is totally off topic - MODS: Please feel free to delete this post.

Observe the Rear view mirrors and Drum brake, should be a cheaper version of Duke.... and Bajaj will call it Pulsar.

Lets just hope the "cheaper KTM" will have a tank as stylish as the Duke

i posted on this thread some pages ago that new pulsar models will have mono-shock & underbody exhaust for mass centralization...nobody else got that information
i got it from the PBK manager...
that very own manager doesn't know the launch date of this bike...
i think he will be one of the first to know if something is officially declared.

Rahul Bajaj himself seems to be confused when the bikes will become available. He keeps pushing the dates at every interview!

He never announced any date. You just got info about dates from several sites on Internet.
                            2000 - Hero Honda Splendor
                            2010 - Pulsar 220
                            2012 - Ninja 250R or CBR 250R
                            (coming Up)

Correction [1]: Rahul Bajaj is the father of Rajiv Bajaj and the Chairman of Bajaj Group, it is Rajiv Bajaj (his son) is the MD of Bajaj Auto.

Correction [2]: The Aug-Sep dates were the result of over enthusiastic blogs/sites. Mr. Bajaj (Rajiv) had mentioned about a 2011 Financial year end date in a Feb 2011 official interview.
