  • I live in a village near chakan were the pulsar plant is based, used to regularly see this bike since july, that time i used to think its an fz250 lol. Riding position is straight just like fz. Good for highway touring.

Apart from tyres, everything else is same in the exported version. Don't expect a cracker price tag, at best it will be priced around 1.3L. Expecting this machine for less than that is a bit too much.

And ya, tyre hugger & saree guard are serving a purpose & satisfying our regulations. So, stop cribbing about them.

LMAO. This is a vanilla bike. Bajaj has done nothing except saree gaurd and tyre hugger. Tyre hugger is better looking than that of new R15.
And originally trustviswas shot those pics and have posted them in a this thread : http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/204...tted-pune.html

This bike is developed by Bajaj-KTM. But Bajaj is doing its production, exactly like Duke 125. Search for duke 125 on foreign sites. They are not calling it cheap.

              • I was looking for a bike for sometime now. When Cbr was launched,i thought this can be a good bike for me,but due to obvious reasons(quality, issues)i let it go.And now the KTM is exciting me,but will wait for the ownership reviews before buying.

Even the export version sports MRF tyres.

Yes, saree guard and tyre hugger is a Govt. of India requirement.. One can remove them (and I will remove them) if he wants to

Oh, ok!! but anyway when Duke 125 was launched everybody knew what it's got from Pulsar parts bin, so expecting it to be priced lower just because of that doesn't make any sense.

Would be great if we get it @ 1.3L, but even around 1.5L, this machine makes a lot of sense.

The international auto journalists have all said that the build quality and overall quality on the 125 Duke is top notch.. I can't accept other than good quality from the product on which I'll be spending over a lakh.

I am ready for 1.5 Lakhs.. just give me a good "look, touch and feel".

International auto journalists have said the same for the cbr also. But quality issues were raised on that bike (in India only)
you can hardly expect those quality stuff and aftersales service in India were manufactures concentrate on mass production.
Like you cant expect R125 quality in R15. Same way Export quality Enfields Vs the one for Indian market.
Fit and finish and quality analyzing wont be the same

                          Cost cutting?

By the way, a few international journos did point out the fit and finish on the CBR250R wasn't as good as the Ninja 250R.

I haven't seen the R125 in flesh so can't comment on it.. but the Indian R15 (especially the Version 2.0) has one of the best fit and finish among Indian bikes.

If the 200 Duke displays signs of cost cutting, then I'll have to think twice before going for it.

The Export version also has MRF Tyre- See the Pic below.

Now stop cribbing that indian model vs exported model.

                            • So what if the switchgear and some other parts are from the pulsar? Won't they be working? I don't get why people start cribbing over the shittiest things.

FYI even the export models have MRF tyres which can be seen in the thread http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/official...t-austria.html

                              • According to my silly calculations considering 125 DUKE,its price abroad(2.5L),and how different the prices are of small capacity bikes in India and abroad,i guess the 200DUKE will cost about 1.6-1.7L!its still a great bike for that money though!
