  • Alright, specs are impressive but i am more interested in the actual on-road performance.

Competition check: CBR 250R and Ninja 250R

Both these 250cc bikes are quick and are seperated by a mere 0.5 secs in the quarter mile run(Ninja having the obvious lead). But with almost identical power to weight ratio as the Ninja, the Katoom has to be as quick(er) than the Ninja in the quarter mile run as well as midrange(single cylinder torque grunt) owing to its power ratings and light weight.

If KTM has to justify its offering its ought to be a super quick machine(quicker than the CBR).Mind you, if it's quicker than CBR by a good margin then it will be as quick(may be quicker) than the Ninja too. Now that would be the result and the kind of performance i am looking forward to.

      You're right.
This machine will give tough time to RD350 in quarter mile race.

yup really that orange frame looks kool
i think that twin calipers is for stunting purpose. Freestyle stunt riders use an extra lever close to clutch lever to activate rear brake.

Good point!! Never really thought of it from this angle, though everybody loved the way it was positioned!!

Never let the tacho to drop below 5k rpm.

Yeah, I know that, but than it is always gonna be touch and go, if the engine dies down while moving thru waters then you are stranded for sure, I am wondering if KTM-Bajaj have tested it in such conditions.

Like someone pointed out and posted somewhere: The Bajaj Chetak Scooter/Honda Eterno Scooter also had a lower positioned silencer, still it had no problem riding across fooded areas.

..the 200 Duke should be able to do it too.

                          What!? A 200cc 4-stroke giving a tough time to a 350cc twin cylinder 2-stroke!!!!!!

Plzz tell me you were being sarcastic!!!!!!

I'm not saying it will beat it. I'm just saying we have got N250 and CBR right below RD350 in terms of performance. They give tough time to RD350 just because thesedays RD350 may not want to pull out all horses it has got because of the its old hardware and the spares availability. An RD350 in mint condition is a completely different case.
