NexGen Pulsar to be launched on January 30, 2012!!!
so lets call the new pulsar kawasaki pulsar zx 200 dtsi-r
well, from the discussion, it seems the new pulsar will be a naked street fighter rather than a fully faired track tool or full blown sports bike so the word "R" is not suitable. it is still a long way till we get an R bike from an indian manufacturer.

Well not exactly.. even Kawasaki made some improvements in the Chassis/Handling of its Naked Z750 and calls its as Z750R.
Sports oriented faired street bikes come with an "R"
Track focussed race bikes come with "RR"
+1 on that. RR is much more and We can see that Race Replica tag in bikes like the CBR 1000RR & the great CBR 250RR...which much more track focused than street focused as history says...thats the same reason why people still like the old inline 4 cylinder 250s than their modern and more street friendly incarnations. But i still think the R versions are better suited and more practical than the RR versions when it comes to indian traffic & road conditions.
On a serious note, I agree with what you say. Although, you have to admit the "R" tag is being stretched in some case. Come on, a Karizma "R"?
Yes the R there was a marketing gimmick since the ZMA has been unchanged since the day it was first launched. Just a few minor addons made the R version there.
So yes it was a marketing gimmick.
what i was referring to was the N650R and C250R in the post you quoted(although u deleted the lines there)
