It's just what units are used to denote the width of the tyres. i.e in inches or millimeters.. 3.0 or 2.75 denotes the width of the tyre in inches.

Another way of rating tyre width is in millimeters.. for example 90 (mm), 100 (mm) or 120 (mm).

@ mayank: buddy, i am sorry, if i hurt you unknowingly.

flickability and zippiness are two different things. zippiness is related to acceleration and flickability is related to handling.

My guess is that, this is the new Discover 150 or maybe a Discover 180, considering a Monoshock and a possible Chassis upgrade. Quite unlikely to be anything else. My reasons:

First the biggest bike in the Pulsar series was updated, that is P220. I think now the biggest Discover should be updated similarly. In a top first strategy.

And you know that the premium commuter also needs mileage, so obviously Discover 150 is the one that desperately needs further mileage upgrade. Other two Discovers are doing good.

Well the engine did not look any bigger to me...definitely not a 180....most probably not a 150....

Engine, along with the overall bike, looked small....and commuter like...

The 108 kmph thing mentioned is really the interesting bit out there...I really had to chase that bike hard to get upclose...
Obviously not that it was undoable for the 220 but more of a surprise from this small a bike...

Also, had a small scuffle with the rider which clicking its pics....

My feeling of this bike sporting the KTM's 125cc engine is getting stronger...!

zippiness= acceleration agreed...u zip thru the traffic=great handling + acceleration

to flick=sudden jerk or blow(yes i actually checked the dictionary)...this i dont think is related to handling..this is definetly acceleration

any English nazis here want to help out if i'm wrong..

well i wanted to say the exact thing but what i wrote ddint come out right...the summary was max power and cc and power to weight ratio isnt ultimate as how power is spread(max power@ rpm etc etc) and how the engine is made makes the difference (right??)

Anant means never ending,infinite....i guess not ant...so u have anant knowledge.. :P

umm its all cool..no offence taken...lets discuss abt this current machine now...desperately waiting for it to release as i'm gonna buy my first bike by this year end confused between this new machine and p135

You flick the bike from left to right and back when riding the bike. How easy it is depends on how light the bike is, and what is its rake and trail geometry and many many other things. All this contributes to the Handling of the bike.

                    hi guys
as the new p200ns was introduced as a completely new member to the pulsar family

can we expect a similar trend for this discover? a new member to the current discover series coexising with the current series of 100,125,150 cc bikes..

could be sold as a premium commuter...??

readthat it will have the same headlamp as that of old discovers...

also read it will be launched by the end of this fiscal year
does that mean by march 2013???

                    • platina 125 not being shown in the product list of bajaj.

guys anyboby noticed the recent disappearance of platina 125 dtsi. the site now holds details of platina 100 only which has now got the black alloys like its 125cc version but on the other hand also seem to have lost some of the goodies like the clear lens indicators, that stylish alloy finished fuel filler cap (may be they removed it in order to re position it cleanly by all levels under the discovers since they even though above the platinas never came with that type of stylish fuel tank cap).My point is that, does this mean the entire platina range could see the axe eventually in the near future...and what does this move mean for the discovers...

                        Keen eye there bro..

In a recent interview Mr. Bajaj had stated that the Platina (most probably 100) is doing quite well with around 50,000 per month figures. that must be the reason it got cosmetic upgrades like black alloys now.

As long as people buy them why axe them? Probably people did not buy the Platina 125 like they buy the Platina 100.

It's how Passion Plus (and historically many other models from various makers) has been discontinued.
Anyone has any updates on whether the RTR160 Fi is still in production?
