This will be the firm's acid test. i.e. to see if the self developed engines can match that it got from Honda.

Also by 2017 TVS would have its TVS-BMW 250-500 models ready and God knows where Bajaj-KTM would be.

Eagerly waiting for what Hero has to offer, what I want to know the most is, will hero be able to keep its reputation as one of the most reliable commuter manufacturer? Will the splendour be able to continue as the king in that segment or is it the end?

The 250cc engine is an all new area for them, hopefully they live upto every ones expectation and are able to give us yet another reliable tourer(sports) Hero's true credibility challenge starts with these proposed engines ...

I have zero expectations from hero. Tvs-bmw and bajaj ktm in my opinion will make affordable sportsbikes. The japs will be giving tough competition. Hero coming up with the fugly karizma tells us about their vision. They are good for making splendours. The evolution of karizma is a sad one. No performance upgrade, just cosmetics.

This isn't about a bike being fugly or sexy.. so pls stop talking crap and stick to the topic..

People call 1bhp increase as a performance improvement.. but a solid 3bhp increase as a cosmetic upgrade.. grow up..

People still talk crap about bikes which havent come on roads yet and talk high about bikes which have been planned for 2015 - 2016.. yikesss.. what to do??

Sorry if i hurt Hero fans' feeling. I have a karizma of 2003 year. Shouldn't have used harsh words. I too want a good indian sub 500cc sports bike. My expectations from zmr were disproportionate so was greatly disappointed. I was expecting cbr250 surpassing stuff. Anyway all the best for your hopes. Hope they deliver this time.

we didn't expect the power figs to be that low in the year 2010.. besides.. they have just started their new life and they haven't put us down with the figures and not much of RnD was done.. but I do have some hopes on the 250.. if not the 250, then the 400 if not the 400 too, then I will go for the RC390

I am just waiting for Auto Expo Feb 2014

and Honda is about to launch a CBR300.. and guess what.. its got only 30.4bhp power.. and they have only changed the fairing.. if you notice, the bike is the same as the CBR250 except the fairing.. and what about the Ninja 300 makes 39ps power..

so I don't think comparing a Hero with Honda is even fair..

lets start comparing Ninja with CBR then

Open your eyes and please go through the spec list again...
pulsar 180 ug4 got less than 1 bhp of power upgrade, in return bajaj forfeited 1nm of torque from it and they launched it as UG4. All the media covered it as a new pulsar 180 but i dont know why people bashing hero for upgrading power figure by 3 bhp and torque by more than 1nm....

actually the bikes they have launched are just small updates to keep them in the market.. not some totally new bikes.. they will be launched in 2014..
so getting disappointed in it would only take you a step away from hero.. nothing more..

                            Ride safe and have fun.
