• Re: Yamaha R25 Dyno run

Yeah !! It should have been built on Delta-box frame for more stability while cornering. But let's check what is the cornering reviews for this bike. I believe that even it is based on tubular frame, it will have impeccable handling.

BTW, I liked the massive addtions to the console. It was required.

Why did yamaha missed ABS?? ABS would had added one more awesome feather to it's cap.

Does anyone remembered??
Was R15 launched in Indonesia first then in India. If yes then by what duration or difference did R15 was launched in India?? Probably same strategy would be there this time as well.

I remember the 20P1&20P2 series were imported from Indonesia. Hoping that repeats!

High chances are that maybe for the first one year after launch, R25 will be a CKD, imported from Indonesia. Let's see what Yamaha has up its sleeve for us.

Same thought. There should be an option for ABS like CBR250R. Yamaha should have made it optional.

Not sure whether this news holds good, as it talks about import, not local manufacture.

ABS missing is a bad thing... Though not a deal breaker yet...
I guess the way Honda started offering ABS sometime after the launch of the CBR 250R, similarly Yamaha may do it following public response to the bike and feedback from customers once it is launched.. I guess may be one year down the line when they launch new colors

And going by Yamaha's previous track record, I think they will have a system that can be retrofitted on the R25 without ABS that will already be in the market.. but in the end this is just my thought..

I feel this is more worse than CKD part.

The Japanese sports bike major planned to produce only 12,000 units of Yamaha R25 in Indonesian plant, but about quarter of the year’s sales target is already booked (in 25 hours!). The company intends to satisfy local fans before exporting the R25 to neighbouring markets. Hence, export plans may be pushed by a year (2015).
Production of 2,000 bikes per month will commence in July 2014, out of which 1,000 is planned to be exported to Japan, Europe and nearby developing countries. Export of Yamaha R25 was scheduled to begin in August 2014, but owing to unforeseen local demand, export activity may be pushed to 2015.
So does this means Indians have to wait by 2015 ?? Oh God!!

Neither of any models are coming out. Not even NS200 Fi, so that we could have enjoyed NS200Fi untill we bring R25

I dont understand whats new about this. even if its launched by oct or nov the bike will be on road in 2015 only. 6 months testing means it will end by 2014 end. how can they sell the bike when its testing is going on.

Vixion was launched first in Indonesia, the bike is quite similar to the R15, the R15 was made in India, with many parts made in Indonesia, mostly mechanical and chassis parts, still many parts are still made there for the R15.

Already people have been waited quite long time for R25.

After such a tempting launch, it's hard to wait.

Some Yamaha is actually late in delivering R25, where as other competitors like Bajaj and KTM are a bit ahead. When Yammie fans will be waiting for thier R25 same others would enjoy RC390.

Wait n wait....

Better late (and better quality than its counterparts) than never

Pros about RC:
373cc engine
Might cost lower than r25
good power, better than r25 (obvious isnt it with a 123cc more)
headlights look promising with projectors
light weight than r25

cons:
1.All out sporty design, which means to forget the comfort. people complained about r15v2 i am sure they will do the same here
2.almost no rear seat. which means pillion constraints and also problems for guys who also want to tour on this. very debatable issues because not many would want to take a pillion but when they want to its gonna be a issue, same like r15 but here its extreme. and guys who want to tour will have problems with luggage and all. now we can say who would want to tour on this, and thats exactly my point.
3.known issues with D390 which people dont want in RC. now we have to wait for that for bike to be launched.
4. personally i didnt like the console and does not give premium look, kind cost cutting already. but it has good features.
5. 10L tank capacity

Pros with r25:
1.50-50 weight distribution, which means better for your writs and body
2. pillion seat is better than RC, which means people would want to sit on this rather than RC
3. good power.
4. better headlights than r15.
5. decent console
6. touring capabilities.
7. Yamaha quality is well known.
8. 14.3 lit tank capacity

cons:
1.might cost more than RC. this is the only thing we all are hell bent on discussing from long time. sorry i dont see any other con. please add to it.

I am pretty sure i know who will be having the last laugh irrespective of who buys first and who smiles first

PS: if anyone feels i was bias (which i know someone will tell as soon as they will see my signature, which is a pretty much enough justification to say i was bias) then please be bias to your pick of the 2 bikes.
somen i understand your frustration i share the same feelings, but i have told myself that i dont have money to buy it right away if its launched so i wont mind it coming in 2015 . just my view. obviously not good in sales perspective.

Yes Yamaha's quality and good performance character is the only thing which is making people to wait and wait.
And they will keep waiting ahead as well...

Quite a times frustrating but can be overcome atlast with the bike
