Re: Yamaha FZ 25 launched at RS 119500/-
For some the bhp doesnt matters...and thats what i said...its the brand that make them blind such is the fan following and they will opt for only that particular brand no matter what... Nothing wrong in that....Originally posted by VaibhavPisalof course bhp matters. otherwise why would anyone be on xbhp?
also when you say pulsar > fz, are you talking about pulsar 150, the old one? i will take ybr over that thanks

Any one else think this engine would be good match for a cruiser bike? May be, something that could be marketed as a rival for Avenger / Thunderbird. This looks like a torquey machine. It'll have it's buyers, mainly Yamaha fanboys in their late 20s/ early 30s (Yeah I'm stereotyping
) who wanted something a Japanese bike in 200cc category, without spilling much from the pocket. I own an R15V2 and this definitely isn't an upgrade for me

no bike has a usp at this point. dominar has killed them allOriginally posted by princesirohi View PostThe bike does not have a USP. Old engine sold as new bike in india. Commuterish bike.
Yamaha fans will buy it, otherwise not an interesting product.
its hard to buy bikes that are more expensive but less powerful like cbr, mojo etc.
except this bike. cause its some 30 k cheaper than dominar abs (only version thats launched for me. wouldn't get non abs for bike as heavy and powerful as that.)
mentally its in a good place. its less powerful than dominar but price is less too.
it would ve sucked if this bike made 5 bhp more but costed as much as dominar. no way i could've bought that.
right now for me its dominar vs fz25. with slight advantage to fz cause less weight and price and also hopefully reliability.

what makes you think this is not a sports bike? i will be perhaps moving from r15 and this one will be satisfactory as far as sports riding is concerned.Originally posted by Sravan S Attuvilakom View PostAny one else think this engine would be good match for a cruiser bike? if a a bike is not a track weapon doesnt mean it has to be a cruiser. this will be great sports bike if fz 16 is anything to go by. will also offer comfort for touring. not as sharp as r15 ofcourse but will be ok for taking out chicken strips and having fun on twisties.

Agreed! but, 250cc for 1.4 onroad Mumbai, and a Yamaha, I'm soldOriginally posted by princesirohi View PostThe bike does not have a USP. .
(riding Motorcycles since 1998)
Great! Info, Makes Perfect sense, at least people won't have to wait for one year to decided if the engine is good or not.Originally posted by princesirohi View PostOld engine sold as new bike in india. .
Yes agree again, but Good thing Yamaha did this, one bike, many purpose, perfect for city, going to office, parking in crowded area, squeezing in small gaps, which with a fairing becomes a tad difficult, and probably good enough for touring,Originally posted by princesirohi View PostCommuterish bike.
Yes Yamaha! correct, i agree again, Only Yamaha fans should buy it, the rest stay awayOriginally posted by princesirohi View PostYamaha fans will buy it, otherwise not an interesting product.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 launched at RS 119500/-
these leaks way before the launch ruin the element of surprises...have been following this bike from sometime
may be thats the reason why i dont feel that excited. may be giving it a test ride will do the excitement part i guess. but i feel it looks like bulked up FZ FI. Pricing is very competitive and i think it will be a hit with people with 'Power in Budget' Category!
i think ' Yes Yamaha'
cheers
Live like you mean it, then get a bike!

The USP is best in class torque output of 20Nm @6000rpm, which is low only when compared to Mojo, Dominar and CBR250R in the Rs. 1-2 lac spectrum.Originally posted by princesirohi View PostThe bike does not have a USP. Old engine sold as new bike in india. Commuterish bike.

LED Headlights, LED taillights, FI are all other good things FZ25 has.
A very reliable, smooth engine which has been selling in several international markets for a long time.
Yamaha wants the masses who preferred FZ for it's great reliability to switch to F25 if they need that additional power and torque for quick/fun city rides.
I'm eagerly waiting for the review to confirm/know more about the same.
Cheers!
