FZ25 link on Yamaha India website is up but its not opening. Can anybody else try opening it and post some info which is available on it..??

agreed its sad yamaha did not consider a 400 cc at 2.5 lac, made in India, or start making r3 in India. i would ve definitely bought them.

for what it is, its a great package. duke 200 is some 30k more than this. chances are both will be close in power. then this is made by yamaha and is equal in quality.

IMO, 400 cc on a single would be rough vibey such as the likes of the D390/RC 390 and that is not a type of bike Yamaha builds. A twin 400 cc or even the R3 would be expensive to manufacture and the bike would not rake in volumes.

Yamaha is definitely no Bajaj when it comes to cost cutting and obviously so. The R3 would cost around 3.3 on road bangalore, even if manufactured (currently retails at around 3.9). A naked version would cut costs by another 20 k may be but not more.

IMO the pricing seems to be right, and it is a great package. They have undercut the duke and the CBR and rightly so.

making r3 in India will instantly lop off 30% as thats the taxes we pay. also manufacturing in India is likely cheaper than where its currently built. i think it can go head to head with rc390 if built here in India, without features like abs, metzeler tyres etc.

as for dominar, am ok with slight vibrations. its possible to have too less vibrations. like r15 was in its early days. now enjoying it a bit more cause there is some raw feeling to it after 6 yrs.

I checked in their model line up. There is no FZ25. They haven't updated yet.

I do not see it being so simple. Tax is not the only component. If Yamaha has to manufacture here it has to set up an assembly line for the R3. Making a smaller size twin would not lead to economy of scale for Yamaha given the expected volumes. Again, Yamaha won't rake in volumes since it will not be able to cut costs, cut quality, share components, facilities like Bajaj does.

Perhaps TVS would be able to do that with the G 310, but i doubt the R3 will be available for less than 3 L on road Bangalore.

maybe you are right about r3 pricing.

no i have only short listed both fz and dominar. will buy them in 6 months cause am not a early adapter.

No, I doubt this bike can achieve 150kmph. Considering only 21hp and 5 gears. This will be more tuned for low/mid range torque, just like any other naked should be.
