    Just to add to the pricing -

    Taxes are different (LBT) in different cities in Maharashtra, hence the bike will be more expensive in (say) Pune, Mumbai but cheaper at soe other cities in Maharashtra.

    Also, I have noticed that dealers are developing nexus with insurance companies and offer more expensive insurances at higher premium as they get their share from it. Worse still, they don't allow you to do your own insurance!

      Exactly, my confusion. Initially I was considering FZ25, and then after comparing prices vs power/features etc, now I am leaning towards Dominar.

        You might want to take a fresh look at your search criteria then. Why are you shuffling between apples and oranges? Because they're priced similarly? Do you want apples? Or oranges? Decide that first!

          i too have short listed dominar and fz25. fz is good 16k cheaper than dominar. not a huge amount but sort of ok. atleast i am not paying more than dominar as in case of duke 200 cbr250 etc.

          plus points of dominar:

          power

          plus points of fz:

          low price and economy
          lower weight
          Japanese so likely reliability.

            Oh, I didn't know choosing a bike would be so difficult, that too with only two choices to deal with . I decided to to buy a bike only after seeing FZ25 (not in flesh though), but later my mind got corrupted seeing the power figures of Dominar and thought why shouldn't I check out the Dominar, after all it is a next level bike at a marginally higher amount.

              Marginally higher amount only for purchase. Remember it's a 373cc bike the D400, it will have less FE, more wear and tear of components etc when compared to a 250cc Fz.

                At my place the difference is of 42000.

                  are you comparing abs version?

                  for me, its abs version of dominar only. non abs pretty much doesnt exist. cause of its high power and weight. fz i suppose will work non abs.

                    Recently, a crash report of D400 posted in a blog. unexpected accident at a speed of 80 kmph on highways, but the rider is safe. Bike's engine crank cover had a major hit.

                        Its been more than 15 days after the launch and none has got their hands on the bike yet.

                        Any idea when the bike will be available in showrooms?

                        Also, is it justifiable to pay 25k-30k more for the fz25 than the recently re-launched Bajaj Pulsae NS200?

                          Here in mumbai it will be available around 20th of this month.

                            I wouldn't have mentioned that post here unless of course it is engine crankcase case. I'm not against Bajaj or any other manufacturer but I'm just expecting some good quality and safety in their products. Because some new bikers(or rash drivers) tends to drive fast without judging the bikes capability, road condition, traffic movement, animals and people without traffic sense.

                              Engine crankcase is made up of cast iron, be it Dominar or Panigale! A bad angle of impact at slower speeds can rip the case as well.
                              A jerk can wreck any bike. Don't worry, the product is as good as it can be, in it's price range and segment.

                                Just to clarify, regarding that dominar crash, both the rider and the lady who was hit by the bike are absolutely safe. Just bruised. The bike took the hit and lots of scratches
