Re: Yamaha FZ 25 launched at RS 119500/-
Wow.. Congrats mate. Wishing you many happy miles! It's good to know an owner's initial impressions. I guess the gears will become more smooth after first service and clocking more than 1000-1500 kms.Originally posted by windsong View PostFew more points that I noticed-----ride quality is really good. The bike hugs onto the road really well.Plastic quality could have been better.Single horn is sufficiently powerful.Exhaust note is bassy at idle.Surge of torque from 4000 rpm is really good.Did not push beyond 5000 rpm.77 kmph @ 5000 rpm in 5 th.Gear shifting is not butter smoot.
I might go for a test-ride today afternoon at Vavin showroom, Chennai. Hope I can bring some perspectives.
Cheers!Last edited by jazzysaravana; 02-27-2017, 11:53 AM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 launched at RS 119500/-
My hunt was on to buy a 200+ CC bike and I zeroed in on Pulsar NS200 , Apache RTR 200 and Yamaha FZ25.I went to test drive all of them but could get my hands on NS200 and Apache only. Both the bikes has that initial surge as mentioned in all the reviews but for me somehow I found it difficult to ride. Maybe I am not in touch since almost an year and was driving Pulsar 150(2006 model) before that or maybe the seat height was a problem(My height is 5.6). I then went to yamaha showroom and asked for the test ride , but it wasn't available. The dealer was kind enough to allow me to sit on on of it's bikes. I sat and immediately felt connected to the bike (seat height might have been the reason
) . The fit and finish of the bike screamed premium and the look was beastly . Once I get to test ride the bike will book it most probably (black colour).

Well, I saw it here yesterday as well. At 1.36 OTR, it sounds like a great deal - but frankly I didn't find it premium as such. Could be easily mistaken as one of those FZ16 versions, RTR 200 is feature-loaded and looks much better IMHO. BTW, since it is FI - I asked about low-fuel warnng and showroom guy informed met that it's not there. Is it even possible to not have low fuel indicator for an FI motorbike?
I am going to try this one though and see if I find it comfortable, no news yet on CBR 250!

In yamaha bikes with FI, generally low fuel warning is denoted by blinking of last fuel bar. When that last fuel bar blinks it means bike has started using reserve fuel and F trip starts.Originally posted by manishh View Postit is FI - I asked about low-fuel warnng and showroom guy informed met that it's not there. Forget CBR 250 upgrade. If it's gonna happen, Honda will announce.

i personally felt it below fz16 ver 2. still very good but not the kind for which yamaha can charge a premium.
ergo and ease of use though are in a league of its own.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 launched at RS 119500/-
I have noticed some cost cutting measures in the bike which should not be there.Yamaha has used plenty of push type clips to attach panels. All of the same small size. Two from the rear tail piece fell off on very first day--and now I have replaced those 2 with oversized one and now its perfect. Also replaced another two over rear wheel with oversized clips. All other small size push clips have been replaced by better quality push clips from Maruti service centre.
Smoothness of the engine while on the go is awesome----anything other than the exhaust note is hardly audible. But the case is not the same at idling.
Recommended engine oil grade 10w40.Service interval 5000 km(1st at 1000 km).
I am 5'11" and I found the bike perfect ergonomically for me.Have adjusted the clutch cable myself and the gear shifting is much better now.Last edited by windsong; 02-28-2017, 12:22 PM.

Do you feel the need of sixth gear?any vibration at higher speeds like 100-110?Originally posted by windsong View PostBro,there is no question of if,I have purchased the first fz25 in my district(PURBO MEDINIPUR,WEST BENGAL dealer TAMLUK AUTOMOBILE at TAMLUK) the case was same when I purchased R15 v1.Actually the annual exam of my son has started plus I want to ride at least few hundred kms before starting the thread---till then I will try to answer all your queries.
