  • We don't believe magzines....

we dont believe magzine riders...(without knowing them)

we dont believe videos on the net

    we dont believe........................................... ...........

So what we do is "Believe ourselves"....

and as far as I can say about both of these bikes....

Without getting into figures and stuff...
P220 is a blaster in terms of a straight-line drag...
It beats an R15 quite convincingly...

R15 is way too nimble for a p220 in corners and tracks...
and it beats a p220 even more convincingly ...!

Moreover there is a lot in both of these two bikes to look and admire rather than outright race/drag results....

    Talking about the topic...

I dont have full faith in the news but I feel this is possible...!
and if this news is true...
than p200 goes obsolete for sure...and expect at least 2 bikes from bajaj (one this month and one in the times to come)
This is literally impossible that Bajaj would do without an FI in ther fleet...

There fleet would still be lead by an FI 'BIG' bike....!

      Agree on this!

To get the best out of a bike it needs to be ridden by the best possible.

But to maintain consistency in a comparo, its best if the same rider rides other bike too!

Well I have no qualms to accept that for most of the time I am a monkey too sitting on a torque monster (in the desi context)..

The other side of the story is that compared to the P220, the handling on the R15 is so forgiving that it makes any monkey sitting on it feel as if he is a 'desi' Rossi.

I hope that the handling on the new P220 has been tweaked and improved this time.

                +1.....

                Very well said...

And after owning/having close affinity with all the generation of pulsars I can safely say/feel/know how much bajaj has improved on the handling of its bikes.....with each new iteration....!

But, among all the other manufacturers in the country, it still remains a fact that 'others' make better handling bikes than Bajaj....!

                  xbhp has good consumer support

well i read somewhere that there are kinda race carburetors that are better than some basic FI units (ofcourse not high costing quality units which i fail to see here for some time )
some if P220 has one of the more advanced carbs .... it can achieve the feat

the thing that makes me take things light is that when R15 claims to be 17 bhp at crank.... there is less difference at the rear wheel ( courtesy - joel)

if its 21 claimed by P220..... i wonder what would be the figure at rear wheel
i seriously hope that the transmission has been worked upon and also if the bike is claimed to achieve 145kmph
i wish the bike would be rideable at that speed and not wobble
or else there is no use
Hope is a good thing ,
may be the best of things and
no good thing ever dies .

If you are talking about this one then these are obviously car guys riding bikes and giving opinions, IMO.
tht video is bullshit , they are riding the RTR , NOT RTR FI. See the stripes.

If the 2009 P220 carb has a Carbon Fibre Exaust with the err... race carbs with 23-24 bhp on tap would achive that top speed(140-145kmph)

                      • See, none of us can quote figures like say 21bhp or whatever to relate to the claims coz Bajaj has not officially declared any bit. God knows if its even the same engine, coz that original Pulsar engine is a dud to extract any serious power and make it a sprinty bike. The pulsar has always been a low-mid power bike than being a high end rev counter. I hope its a new engine!

If some source from bajaj is indeed claiming it to be 21bhp, let me tell you its not at all gonna be easy to clock a true 145kph. With the pulsars being always heavy, atleast upwards of 140kgs, it will need close to 25bhp to really clock that figure. Else, yes it will still do 140-145kph true, but will consume an entire international airstrip (2-3kms)..which in no means will be a figure to achieve on normal conditions.
I'm sure people at Bajaj are not dumb, they must have something sensible in store this time, IF all this is indeed true.
Just saying that 21bhp is far too less to hit 145kph.

Has the Exhaust material got something to do here?

BTW,i guess it wont be anything more than 21PS.

How about a free flow exaust like yamaha gonnna launch with R15 & FZ
Juss my guess if it's a carb it won't require a ecu fuel pump blah..blah..blah..

or can i fit an aftermarket injector system on a carb bike(i really dont know so am asking)
