BTW, I have booked the "downgraded" P220 today....soon I'll be riding it with my Arai Helmet and Alpinestars jacket and boots around local buses, autos on MG, FC, JM.... Road

Congratulations! All those track days abroad haven't tempted you to go for the R15 or the RTR?

The needs are - power, efficiency, reliability and value for money. Technology per se means zilch if it does not deliver these deliverables.

Like the rest pointed out, there's too much thats been bettered in the new 220. Let's put across the negative points with trepdation until we get a chance for a test ride. Then you can come along, use your jackhammer and drill your messages on every wall in town.

And Guess what, an air cooled carb'ed engine is running faster than any other bike on Indian roads [barring the SBK's obviously].Also a bike without monoshocks and double disc brakes is handling very good even on the tracks.
BAJAJ guys are making older technology work on par with the newer FLASHIER technology.And you talk about advanced technology huh?
Not everyone can afford to have the ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY BASED SUPERBIKES.

Some people here have a real hard time understanding what people say and go on commenting and asking people to get a life and all. Did I ever mention that SBK's are meant to be built around the new Pulsar, read the stuff inside the brackets. it says BARRING THE SBK'S OBVIOUSLY

My point was,there is no need to crib about the use of old technology by BAJAJ. They have improved their bike which formerly used advanced technology[read: FI] by using older technology[read: carb] .I never mention that is the sole way bikes are meant to be built! Duh.!

just curious...is the ability of the karizma being questioned only because its "older" as compared to the P220 ? and is the new p220 being considered as comparable to the karizma because its newer ??

because thats the message i got from the last couple of posts.
