The ability of the ZMA is unquestioned, its the ability of the 220 that is in discussion here!Originally posted by hell_glider View Post

No one is questioning the ZMA. It has proved itself time and again.
But the fact that vipin_s here is saying that p220 is not a good tourer has sparked the fire.
The p220 is comparable to the zma now.Considering both the bikes are in almost the same price range[p220 being a little cheaper] and that the p220 has been more refined now with taller 5th gear for enhanced cruising! so yes they are comparable.
But the ZMA is not being questioned at all here.

But telling me go read stuff proves nothing.
Instead why don't you read through the first 2 links in my signature!
@Santa: I changed my first set of clutch plates at 23K, and they had'nt burned up yet just slight loss in power (ie 1kmph drop in each rpm)_________________________

Heh heh heh !!
This had to start eventually isn't it !!
Alright ladies, please continue ! But at the end of it, pls think what good comes out of all this accusations and counteraccusations !!
@Vipin : Seriously buddy. You had ur opinions and you aired them.
But pls consider what others have to say too !! Don't accept but maybe consider at least !!
And then, pls leave the hapless Pulsar 220 fans to their misery, and wait for the bike that fulfils your expectations !!

But one thing is there, that we'd have liked if improvements to the FI version also keep coming at regular intervals !! Now, I mean if they have decided to keep the FI 220 in their lineup, (and considering its the costliest Bajaj model, it had to be their flagship right !! ), it makes no point if the FI is left for dead.
There will still be pple hu wud want to buy the FI bike, but wudn't want to be left out in the constant improvement stakes !!
Heres hoping Bajaj doesn't overlook P220 FI. Whether we Indians need technology or want technology or not is something else !! But one of the most advanced bike in India deserves it !!
Lastly R.I.P P200 !! You'll be missed !!

P.S: Pls understand, I do not mean offence to anyone with my post !!Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

. Just coz the bike has no FI. Dude the FI is still in production you can buy it if you want.
I am happy, kudos to Bajaj, they are throwing down the gauntlet to Yamaha & TVS, match us at least in Performance if not in price
.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostPlease read about the new bike on the net before ranting.
The only downgrades are the FI and the price.
Upgrades -
1. More Power & Torque & Top speed
2. Better Engine Head Design, Valves and Hotter Cams
3. New Clutch
4. Bigger Oil Cooler
5. Advanced CDI with temperature based Timings
6. Stiffer Suspensions
7. Better Tyres
Frankly, it is an excellent job by Bajaj.
And you still want FI for bragging rights, go ahead buy it!Originally posted by payeng View Post+1,
So much for lip service over the net, but lets see how many guys would really prefer the "Fi" over the carb..
Hero Honda and HMSI have their PGMFi on the 125 cc Glamour and CBF Stunner respectively.. Not to forget the RTR 160 Fi from TVS.
Why don't these 'high on tech' models sell like hot cakes..??
Any thoughts..??Originally posted by leon_nerd View PostIt is really sad people think like this. Instead is looking at the positive side you are starting to crib about the new developments. People have been criticizing the Fi from Bajaj. Instead of using a faulty much cribbed about Fi system Bajaj went ahead with a Carb. So what's the problem? And who said it is downgraded? It is better to use something classic that works rather than something modern that doesn't. Yeah we will forget about everything else if we get the same pleasure riding the classic equipments.^^^^Originally posted by Samy View PostConnection of Fi with helmet is very hard to digest......ahhhh....I have the solution....I'll FORGET
BTW, I have booked the "downgraded" P220 today....soon I'll be riding it with my Arai Helmet and Alpinestars jacket and boots around local buses, autos on MG, FC, JM.... Road

lol too good !!!
liked the comments put forth by everyone here has ,made me change my opinion abt the new 220 but being a strong believer in technology i would have still prefered the fi coz my bike as (and maybe few others too) are couple of exceptions in the sea of faults with the fi 220s.i knw this coz i have taken my bike to the limits and she hasnt given me any problems at all still gives me 38+kmpl still touches a 135 effortlessly yes i did face problems with the fairing .
this is why i would have loved a better fi unit and to go ahead with what bajaj had started thts only dissapointing tht they couldnt better the fi . are they no benefits of fi over the carb ?? at the time when the fi 220 came out every one was goin nuts over it .but if majority of the ppl are happy with the new 220 my opinion doesnt count . yes kudos to bajaj for making it available at a very competitive price thts something brilliant .sigpic

Good to see a performance bike at competitive price. The Zigwheels test is really promising. Lets wait and see what other mags have to say, not to forget the real customer reports.
And, I hope there will not be any quality issues, as were the case with initial lots of P200 and P220 FI.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler
Honda Aviator || Kinetic Flyte || Kinetic Blaze || HH Splendor

The new 220 seems promising. Let's see what other auto mags got to say about this. Not to forget the Initial ownership experience too. I beleive that soon there would be aline up of new 220's on xBhp
@MODS : Going through the last few pages, i guess vipin_s very well deserves an infraction for sparking up brand wars at all possible ocassions. When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

@vipin-Even without riding one you come to that conclusion. If in future you trying to indulge in any kind of brand wars then you will straightaway get an infraction without any warning. No one is stopping you to post here but don't post for the sake of posting or yo prove that you are the biggest admirers of Japanese manufacturers and all others doesn't even stand a chance in front of them.
Ok I will clean some posts from this thread in a few hours from now.
@insane-Next time use report post. And we are here to decide what to do when.

I guess somebody didnt tell these lines to the Japanese bike manufacturers out here, especially Yamaha!!
The reviewer of zigwheels is Adil Jal Darukhanwala. The same guy who goes gung-ho even with the slightest mention of the name, BAJAJ.And boy, did he say better handling than R15?Originally posted by KwokFist View PostZig Wheels review is good. But it makes me wonder if some of it is marketing fluff. Not doubting the rider or his skills (as he's a great guy and an awesome rider) at setting good timings but then again its editor makes me have my doubts regarding some of the info presented by the mag. Also the never ending claims about top speed with just a 1hp bump in power makes no sense in the real world. Not trashing the p220 here, i actually like the new iteration and waiting for one of my friend to book it now.
I will reserve all of my comments till i test ride the bike myself or after going through other magazines reviews. But nonetheless, BAJAJ has pulled out a stonker in the Indian Market and it will be interesting to see what the competition has to answer. But i dont' see any competition remotely near this bike for the next 6 months-1 year(barring the Ninja, of course!!
)
And why do we have people crib about a bike which costs 70k-exshowroom and still is the fastest. My point is what's the use of the fancy technology acronyms(barring the Fi system) which actually dont provide you the required performance vis-a-vis the moolah you are spending for it.
I was deciding on the RTR180 for my brother and suddenly this new P220 has left me wondering!!

By the look of it seems like you are advocating the biking pleasure only for a select few. Why my friend ordinary Indians can enjoy a good performance bike? Everyone deserves some good pleasure and oh yeah hooligans dont really need a performance bike to do the acts ... but bikers with a budget like me really do. Plus I don't think any manufacturer be it bajaj, HH or anyone else for that matter should be criticised for reducing the pricing atleast.Originally posted by DASCO View PostNo wonder serious bike manufacturers the Japs and the others are reluctant to bring in their bikes.
How will the Indian scenario ever improve????
If a down graded bike gets such a hype in India cause it is cheap, how will the biking scenario in India develop???
Forget all the latest technology, forget liquid cooling, forget twin spar frames, forget Fi, forget mono shocks, forget double disc brakes forget everything India is and will remain stuck with air cooled carbed engines mounted on bicycle frames..because it comes cheap..thats it..when it is cheap forget technology, forget safety, forget performance, forget braking, forget cornering forget riding gears, forget helmets..forget everything...
India biking will never improve...
I will now never blame Hero Honda and the Munjals for anything..they are probably the best Indian Auto brains...
Sad that the P220 was down graded in the interest of revenues..now more and more non helmeted, t shirt clad guys will be wheeling around local buses and autos on MG Road...good bye to bikers...
