Thank you Bajaj for retorting back to black colors for the tacho....I really hate unnecessary colors...

Ahh! the 'F'. Come on guys, who cares what its for?
Bajaj was never good in stickering.
It'll be good if the black clip ons and grab rails are available separately as well. Many existing 220 owners might for it. But I wonder if the mounts for the clip ons are the same.
Supposedly, they are raised for the new 220. If the fairing vibe issues and RVMs are not better in this bike, then I believe it is a disappointment because Bajaj should have made the changes to these as well. After all, they made changes to most other things for the better. Small things like this go a long way in defining a bike's over-all image, and should not be over looked.
Congrats, Veda. So another treat?
@steve: I still question this bikes touring capabilities comparatively with its predecessor, atleast spec-wise, until it is thoroughly tested (I am sure Veda will do that comprehensively in its first month itself
). Because its torque is not better, its the same, but at a later rpm. Torque band is narrower than before. Suspension tweaked for
- better in handling going around corners and braking hard,
- not for long rides which will test your lower back.
But all in all, let's see.
Softer compound does not necessarily mean more expensive to make. It is the compound of the tyres, and tyre treads have no significance to the tyre compound. Only time will tell if the compound is as soft as the R15. The R15 tyres are a bit wishy washy off road. I am not criticizing it because it was not meant to be going for too much off roading anyways. The 220 DTSi tyres compound might not be as soft.Originally posted by sumit512 View PostThis soft compound thing on tyres... is it also of many types? What I with my limited knowledge seemed to understand that they necessarily have the patterns like we see on R15 tyres but here I see P220 maintaining the old tyre pattern. Any idea if this soft rubber thing is as good as one on R15? Ofcourse with so much reduction in price I was not even hoping for soft rubber

All new Black P220 looks terrific .... I'm gonna recommend this to my friends for sure... but only after a TD ... Will visit PBK showroom this weekend to get a TD... hope they have one!! Any idea when PBK showrooms will get the first lot of bikes??
Any news on RVM's wobbling issues on the new P 220 at higher speeds?? Hope they are more functional now

(it was supposed to come earlier........ but again it the thread was locked......)Originally posted by DASCO View PostNo wonder serious bike manufacturers the Japs and the others are reluctant to bring in their bikes.
How will the Indian scenario ever improve????
If a down graded bike gets such a hype in India cause it is cheap, how will the biking scenario in India develop???
Forget all the latest technology, forget liquid cooling, forget twin spar frames, forget Fi, forget mono shocks, forget double disc brakes forget everything India is and will remain stuck with air cooled carbed engines mounted on bicycle frames..because it comes cheap..thats it..when it is cheap forget technology, forget safety, forget performance, forget braking, forget cornering forget riding gears, forget helmets..forget everything...
India biking will never improve...
I will now never blame Hero Honda and the Munjals for anything..they are probably the best Indian Auto brains...
Sad that the P220 was down graded in the interest of revenues..now more and more non helmeted, t shirt clad guys will be wheeling around local buses and autos on MG Road...good bye to bikers...
Dasco dnt feel bad...... earlier u used to overtake others....... now some kid will overtake u...... Bajaj is constantly upgrading n other cos. have to keep the pace....... just sales chart doesn't matter........ n u say downgrading

........
just 3 monthsOriginally posted by Sarvajit View PostSo looks like my speculation turned out true! The carbed 220 is the new 200!
And the all black&1ps more power also turned out true!
Wow man! I'm becoming a great speculator.
Anyways, jokes apart, the best part about all this is the part confirmed by Sunny about the Ninja launching within 3 months!

......
@vipin--- y r u in such a mood(always)....... u hay have ur thoughts but dnt try to impose ur thoughts on others......Originally posted by vipin_s View Post@Payeng : Put your thoughts first, Which bike/s do you own and why ?
it seems too good...... the speed came with handling...... too cool.......Originally posted by Samy View PostSome text from BS motoring road test:-
Kyle first opted to have a go on a rival bike, currently the most expensive offering in the Indian premium segment. On the long straights, when dragged together, the Pulsar effortlessly opened up a substantial gap and kept pulling away towards its VRDE-certified top whack of 144.3 kph.
Tip the P220 into the corner with 100 kph showing on the digital speedometer and exit carrying more speed as the P220 shows no sign of wallowing around, remaining planted throughout the turn.
this is the the mentality of the majority of people....... 220ccOriginally posted by anvancy View Posta local paper carried a sort of survey.many youngsters said that this bike is merely for show off and its speed is not suitable for indian roads.
many youngsters said that we do not need speed but fuel efficiency.(wth..200kmpl?)
this really makes a dent to a person who is into riding bikes.(what we call as biking.)
it also carried that the bike is carrying a "hefty tag".then what will these people say to the price of a ducati?? "chappar phadke??"
i have to say here not in terms of brand war but from a psychological part.
85% concept is since i go from A to B what i will always need is fuel efficiency.no speed.so i am happy if my bike goes 60kmph.or even less.i will then not hit cats cows hawkers pedistrians cars other bikes rickshaws trucks trailers tractors cycles other three wheelers and not least losing control and going into the field.
due to this main psychological behaviour HH is "ruling" the bike market in INDIA.kya karna itna speed ka??(is what is in their minds)economy is what we want.
kya hoga itna bada ingine ka...... 125 kafi hai......... (what to do with 220 cc...... 125 is enough.....)
itna kam mileage........ are mera Passion hi achha hai
...... (so less mileage....... mu Passion is better.......)
kaisa ajib dikhta hai...... tank kitna bada hai
...... (out of the world design........ so big tank........)
are piche bhi disk hai....... jyada accident hoga....... aise co. ko band kar dena chahiye
........(rear disk too...... means more accident...... these cos. sud be banned.......)
so chill out...... these people will never change and will always talk ill about the products other than they like....... for them till now Maruti is the best brand....... and thats why HH is the best-seller.......
but for us TVS n Bajaj is there who are continuously giving us competent products and making us smile.......
