After owning/having close affinity with almost all the iterations of pulsar, I know and understand how much Bajaj has improved on the handling of its bikes.....
Its commendable to say the least, that a classic (which i still own) handles horribly whereas the latest gens handles awesome....
But, fact still remains, that when it comes to handling, they have a long way to go to match up with the big japs and even our very own apaches....!

Try staying out of this thread if you are NOT enjoying the new 220 thread. Every single person who has owned / owns a bajaj vehicle knows what Bajaj is. It was BAJAJ only which changed the 150 cc segment with the lauch of Pulsar. And then they didn't styop there. Initial 220s had many glitches but they again took feedback from customers & came up with improved 220s.
I have owned 5 Bajajs till date apart from 2 others (which include japs as well) and sixth in the pipeline...
In mumbai it is a tad over 80k, hence OTR pune for this bike would be close to 78-79ks........Originally posted by anvancy View Post70 is ex delhi!what is ex home ground??(read pune)

Really...........
How did the all-black version looked wrt the somwhat silvered colors..?
So, now Pulsars also camouflage....Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostThere is one thing which is not highlighted by anyone for some strange reasons. The 09 version of Pulsar has a new black colour (Posted it on P180 thread too but was not sure at that time as I didn't checked it myself).
So what's new. The black colour turns into a blue one when some light falls on it in night. The change is subtle but visible.
Awesome figures.......just cant stop drooling....Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostPerformance figures of P220 from various sources.
Zigwheels 0-60 3.8 seconds.
Bike India 0-60 4.7 seconds
Autocar India 0-60 3.77 seconds
0-100 figures varies from 11 to 13.5 seconds. I will post the exact figures of 0-100 tomorrow.

The performance timings/figures would naturally vary between the different publications.. after all the conditions of testing along with the skill level of the testers (not to mention their body weights) would be different. For example even if any two xBhp'ians conduct individual tests on the same bike.. the timings is almost impossible to be identical. Right?
But what I know is that the Zigwheels Road Test of the new P220 was done by Varad More (as stated by themselves on their site).. who happens to be one of the most talented auto journalist and one among the best motorcycle racers in India (he has in fact raced and has won against professional racers in India)
Yes, the unanimous voice of all of them definitely means that we have a new Performance King (Fastest Indian Bike) for the year 2009 here... can't wait to test it back to back with my Fuel injected P220.
By the way, with all the suspension tweaks (& softer footwear) that has gone into making the 2009 P220 a better handler, am just curious what will be the performance of the 2009 P220 this time on the race track.
Very very true............!
I suppose the projector headlamps are still a part of this bike...
Can anybody confirm..?2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)
2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)
2006 - Eterno (sold)
2008 - Dio (Owned)
2009 - Pulsar 220 DTSi

According to Business Standard Motoring and Autocar's latest report, the limited visibility of the Rear View Mirrors still continues to be an issue.Originally posted by augusta View PostHas the functionality of the RVMs change, cause I guess they were a big problem in the Fi ?

@Devilpulsarian: Ofcourse the projector lamps are there. EVERYTHING, except the Fi is taken from the P220 DTS-Fi. So that makes the carb P220 a killer machine!
And the black clip-ons, black grab rails on the black P220 does not quite gel well, with me.

we cant say exclusive for the 220.many farmers are rich.rich as in they drive pajeros.not scorpios.!Originally posted by nitrosatya View Post@anvancy: Yes this is true. But you know the fox and grapes story.
And this makes owning a big bike even more exclusive.
we thought that R15 will be exclusive.but it never went exclusive.instead it went mainstream.if u ask me..thats where the mind play of showoff comes.if X buys this and i want to show him off.i will buy this(as in X and Y not me).u can easily see nobody and everybody riding R15s and 220s.
so exclusivity factor no more remains with these.
anvancythere are no stupid questions.
but there are stupid people.

Some text from BS motoring road test:-
Kyle first opted to have a go on a rival bike, currently the most expensive offering in the Indian premium segment. On the long straights, when dragged together, the Pulsar effortlessly opened up a substantial gap and kept pulling away towards its VRDE-certified top whack of 144.3 kph.
Tip the P220 into the corner with 100 kph showing on the digital speedometer and exit carrying more speed as the P220 shows no sign of wallowing around, remaining planted throughout the turn.
