I think a change the tank design is not so difficult. I do think Bajaj is sticking with the tank to retain their 'pulsar' image but then again wouldn't it be better for the brand itself if a totally new tank design was launched? This one is getting .... oold.!Originally posted by payeng View PostI know the Pulsar shape (& tank) is getting too common.. it is because it has sold and sold really well.. but frankly it's quite difficult to imagine the Pulsar Brand without its Signature tank.
If there needs to be a change, then the entire bike has to change and not just the tank.. which will definitely be a big challenge.
And yes, I do find the Pulsar 200 one of the Most Elegant/Beautiful/Handsome Bike in the world (no kidding).. the looks of which have now gone to the P180 UGIV.

Bajaj has been carrying this design for almost a decade, yet the foundation design of the bike looks fresh, muscular and an eye-candy...!
But this remains a fact that Bajaj has to improve upon the knee recess of the tank. Look at almost all hondas, they seem to be so perfect in terms of knee recess, evey Apaches.....not to even mention Yamahas.....!
Talking about P200, it was just an awesome looking bike...no two ways about it...!2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)
2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)
2006 - Eterno (sold)
2008 - Dio (Owned)
2009 - Pulsar 220 DTSi

As per the Bike India July issue....New P220 has best power to weight ratio compared with any other Indian bike in production. Does this mean we can say P220 is quickest (0-60) without even putting it to test with other bikes ?

Exactly. Even the BMW's come with their trademark grille style.So IMO the pulsar tank has to stay.Originally posted by ttg View PostIMHO, The pulsar tank has to stay.
same as you get the 7 slot grill in a jeep, it's the signature;
& what is a pulsar without it's most recognizable feature?

oops...I missed your post earlier.Originally posted by theslayer View PostCongratulations! All those track days abroad haven't tempted you to go for the R15 or the RTR?
Thanks.
There are no tracks around pune so my only chance to be on podium is to win Red Light GPs and P220 should be the best tool for the purpose
