I wont question things when its said by Varad,
But would surely like to put up a point:
On highways when you ride at a constant full-throttle, wont any Bike will show different results unlike that on the tracks...
I guess, Top-speed can differntiate about upto 5 kmph. So 220 will surely make a difference on-road.

Example: I experienced it when I was dragging with an R15 on NH8 (6 lane highway, GQ) at a full empty stretch of about 10+ kms.
R15 was constantly gaining speed & it overtook me after a while & R15's speedo was showing 144 kmph.

Thats just what makes logic to me, if its not then plz explain kindly

Bajaj calls a bike which is some 5-6kph faster than the closest stock competitor the fastest Indian and stuff. Buggers have not even come close to 100mph to be called fast.
The under-bone 125 and 150cc bikes from indo and thai can screw the p220.
When will somebody make some really fast bikes. Bikes that can scare when you crack the throttle.
Faster is faster. It doesn't matter if its 5 kmph or just 0.5kmph. If you are supposed to question why we dont have fast bikes questions everyone not just Bajaj. Somehow you you are not just able to digest that Bajaj has done something considerable. If you have a problem with the tag line why don't you go ahead and sue Bajaj?

Dude, u are making things controversial here.
In my previous thread, I've made it clear of how much I appreciate bajaj for their innovations and achievements. Their products might not have the best quality or whatever, but they are always willing to try new things. Full brownie points to bajaj for this.
End of the day all want to make money and capture the market. The "Fastest Indian" title is just sounding a little too over-cooked, and ya they are straight out to show some heels to yamaha. Who cares!

I would suggest you don't go around snapping at people like that.

Joel isn't specifically singling out Bajaj here, though they did exactly what he said. The bigger issue he's trying to highlight is the fact that manufacturers here tend to present minor advances as big breakthroughs where other countries have bikes that "can scare when you crack the throttle". I for one agree with him actually.

          • Pls don't suggest me. I know what I said and what "people" have been saying all the years.

Who doesn't do the marketing gimmick? But somehow people go after Bajaj like anything. Companies have to run their business and they will come up with up with these tag lines. Now, if that is not true why don't we go and sue them? We talk about RD350. It is out of production. If we keep banking and talking about the techs gone past then we can never appreciate the upcoming technologyy, innocations and efforts being put in by the companies around.

And talking about "specifics" and controveries pls check the last few posts.

                • Leon if you notice nobody is criticisng the bike or the efforts put by BAL we are all very happy about the new bike.

Its just that the Marketing is a bit over the top thats it You say why Bajaj simply because nobody else is going so OTT, if they did we guys will react the same way

If you check any of my posts in RTR threads I have always said that they are always 2 steps behind when compared to Bajaj & almost always copy what Bajaj does.

So the idea is to give credit where its due & also criticize where needed

                  only 38k for a 9k run 1.5 year old P200

Why is this P220 a carb one?

                            sorry another question

What is the meaning of F emblazoned on the side fairing ?

                              1. Why is this P220 a carb one?
                              2. What is the meaning of F emblazoned on the side fairing ?
1a. The carb is of superior tech, Bajaj claims 5% more FE over DTSFi.
                              1b. Significant price reduction
                              1c. A Strategy

                              2. Design 'element' it's not 'F', people say so.

                              (OT question, OT answer)

                              • i dont get the point why it is so difficult for a GIANT company like bajaj to develop a monoshock and a rigid lightweight frame . it is not rocket science . no matter how fast and neatly priced the 220 maybe it is a disappointment .
