Pune PBK are liars for that matter. Few minutes back only the person there told me "Bookings have not started yet and they will start sometime next week." When I asked when approximiately it will begin next week, the person said "We are not sure as we have no information from company on this."Originally posted by trustvishwas View PostCurrently only 7 bikes have been allocated to Pune and they will be sold strictly by invitation only.

Hey, this was my info. I do not know whether this is hundred percent true or not. However, if I was Mr. Bajaj, I will dump whole lot of 1000 bikes on the market immediately when the excitement is high and rake in money.Originally posted by ashutosh_x View PostPune PBK are liars for that matter. Have you ever wondered why nobody else manufactures a 250cc twin with 30ish bhp anymore? It is simply because with this kind of power, you will get bored quickly and easily and when your mates make a bigger step to a 400 or 600 you will be left behind. There are no examples I can think of but that hardly makes the Ninja is a revelation!Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostHow about giving us some examples of present day 250cc 4 stroke bikes that produces more than the 33bhp that the "ancient" motor in Ninja manages?
Says who? there are nice examples of 250cc and 350 parallel and v-twin exotic 2 strokes out there that need a little love and attention. These can be had for 50k - 1L and with another 1L budget you can turn them into an absolute HOOT. I'm not saying 2-strokes is the guaranteed path to motoring nirvana but I am staggered that a 4-stroke 250cc at 3L is a more attractive proposition to some. This just goes to show how little choice we have and I don't think a buying decision should be made when there is no alternative. It is better to wait and watch.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostIf anyone expects to buy exclusivity by spending a mere 3L in present day India, he will be in for a rude shock. Anyways, what is the deal with exclusivity? The more this bike sales, the better will be the after sales service and aftermarket parts support. I, and I am sure many others, don't care a hoot about exclusivity
What if I told you that there is a manufacturer who is testing a 250cc parallel twin made right here at home in India? And even if they did come CBU route - perhaps these bikes will have additional features and benefits and perhaps not. But choice is important in my opinion...no matter what the price point.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostNot for nothing is the Ninja the best 250cc sports bike in the world. Anyways, other bikes are also sure to come through the same CBU route and hence price will be similar if not more
I agree...it is a good bike for the money but for that kind of money I expect to be thrilled every time I ride the bike and I don't believe "thrills" are what the baby Ninja can deliver.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostIMO, the Ninja is worth the price tag it commands.
For the Indian market which hasn't experienced anything near this quick since they shut down the 2-strokes...yes it will be an interesting experience. But you may well be kicking yourself when the 400s, 600s etc. start showing up at various dealerships. A 3L down payment for a 6L - 7L bike will get you more bike for easily manageable EMIs.Kriss : 15.06.1981 - 11.10.2009
You will not be forgotten...RIP

Question: Of what use is the Free trade agreement between India and Thailand?
I suppose the import duties are drastically lowered. If so, why cant this apply for bikes
PS: I wish a day comes when the government totally removes the import duty for sportbikes

But, the question is, will a 400/600 cc bike come to India soon, say within 2 yrs?Originally posted by gsferrari View PostHave you ever wondered why nobody else manufactures a 250cc twin with 30ish bhp anymore? Many people prefer to go for a brand new bike with assured after sales support. A second hand 2 stroke offers none of that. Of course, I am not speaking for myself here, but simply for the general public.Originally posted by gsferrari View PostSays who? there are nice examples of 250cc and 350 parallel and v-twin exotic 2 strokes out there that need a little love and attention. And will it be better in performance than the Ninja? I doubt that. But yes, more choice is always good.Originally posted by gsferrari View PostWhat if I told you that there is a manufacturer who is testing a 250cc parallel twin made right here at home in India? Obviously, the Ninja is not for a guy like you!Originally posted by gsferrari View PostI agree...it is a good bike for the money but for that kind of money I expect to be thrilled every time I ride the bike and I don't believe "thrills" are what the baby Ninja can deliver.
Yes, and it will take at least 2 yrs for that to happen. Till then, this is the best option we have. Of course, some people may decide to wait for 2 more years. i do not agree with your earlier point that more bikes better service, look what bajaj has done to pulsar service.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostBut, the question is, will a 400/600 cc bike come to India soon, say within 2 yrs?
