Bajaj Pulsar 400cc, cruisers,

Rajiv Bajaj told me that his company is working on bigger Pulsars which will displace up to 400cc. The high powered bikes are expected to roll out by 2011. These performance bikes are also expected to come with multi-valve DTS-i engines.
Bajaj will also bring a cruiser under the Pulsar brand in the near future. According to Mr.Bajaj, even cruiser bikes come under the performance category, which is why the Pulsar brand will be used on such type of models.
Bajaj says its efforts are going into making the internal combustion engine the standard source of power. Bajaj has some R&D projects on hybrid or electric vehicles, but those are not on his agenda in the coming years.

A bit of clarification

Yes they are not! But they are the first to have a 4-Valve Combined with their revolutionary DTS-i (Digital Twin Spark-ignition) technology.

Ok, manufactures in past and current have marketed much stupider and pointless stuff to Indian folks and I would like to name a few but then I will look like a hater who is fueling brand war. The 2 plugs in a cylinder is an age old proven technique to not only increase fuel efficiency, but to improve and increase power at lower rpms and that is how the earlier versions of this technologies were marketed by a European motorcycle manufacturer (which I wont name for obvious reasons but has intials of M B and W in their name )

1] Telescopic front fork
2] Earles fork
3] Single-sided rear suspension
All this tech is used by many manufactures around the world everyday. Would you call, lets say, Fucati copy cat, as they use single-sided rear suspension on their beautiful italian designed bike or Bonda to do the same for their racing spec bike? No because all this companies may be using the same concept or the principle behind them but they have different design, setup, purpose and result. Hence all of these tech can be patented. And trust me if BMW could put a case on bajaj so that they cannot wake ups for decades, they would have as their CEO is not the father in law of bajaj's CEO. Also it is not a case that bajaj is a backyard company about whom BMW does not know about as bajaj has a recruited some of their staff from BMW!

If a rusting 1983 model TVS 50 XL can ride close to red line for an hour that too in a track conditions then I guess a 2009 flame should be able to take a similar abuse! Maybe it was a bad lot of machines made by few angry blocks who had a bad tea in the morning from their ugly looking wifes! My point being people are prone to make mistake and so are companies. So lets not worship them!

ERRRRRRR..... Dude, Are you feeling all right?

First let me address your question about why LML bikes and GF series did not sell. Both series of bikes were from manufacturers who had only been manufacturing scooters and did not have much Idea about the bike market, Before you go all berserk about Indian products being bad, Please know that LML had its tech support from Daelim (Korea) and the GF series bikes were a straight lift from Hyosung (again Korea). The bikes failed because they were very poorly packaged and due to the inexperience of the manufacturers had very bad comfort levels. Hell The Adreno and Energy used to come with two keys like a scooter.

Second: Indian bikes are poorly made, Yes. But there has been some mighty improvements in that department.

4 valves do not make a race spec engine. Otherwise the wagon R would be a sports car. It is a part of engineering, not the whole engine and definitely not a gimmick. It makes engines run smoother at high RPMs. As cicatrix has stated, in India bikes are being sold for much less of features like a self starter and because it can grow horns or it can graze the savanna to fill its tank. The point is Please dont trash a company for actually trying to do something.
Kindly calm down and stop trashing. This thread is about the P135, if you dont like the bike then dont buy it. Its that simple.

It takes guts and it takes much more hardwork and effort to do things or achieve in reality . We only read bajaj sold 1 lakh disco's in 50 days .
But they know how much work they have put in to get there .
This is reality , just go out and try to do something , you ll know much more easy to talk or rant .
