Yeah... if I'm compromising on performance and going for the CBR 250, C-ABS would be the only reason that would make me choose it... more is never enough, specially when it comes to safetyOriginally posted by rennycornelius View PostSo being a CKD, BAJAJ still has potential to localize some of the parts of NINJA, but keeping the quality levels intact.
And if it does so and still commands 30-50 grand more over the Cee Bee R 250, i would go for the NINJA.
(But still a 250 HONDA with ABS for under '200 thousand' is pretty yummy package
)
Bro, it was being previously said that the booking would start late Jan or early Feb. But HMSI surprised us all by starting it from 1st Jan itself. So, I'm hoping that the delivery and official launch would be sooner too. I for one don't have any specific date and neither the HMSI website says about any specific date. Rest what the showroom guys say is no more than speculationOriginally posted by fireblah View Postwhen is cbr250 launching again ?

Hmm, I've seen enough of ZMA vs.220 wars on this forum. I didn't wanna spark something of that sort!Originally posted by n_aditya View PostCome on. Its a free country and an open discussion forum. You can share it if you want to. Its YOUR opinion and it can be exactly the opposite of those of the others. There are people who dont like ducati's and ferrari's and lambo's, doesnt mean those machines are bad or the ones who dont like them have no taste. Its just their opinion. Something that excites one doesnt necessarily have to excite another.
Do let us know more about the ride. Maybe you need to ride it once more on open roads where you can exploit the potential of the bike.
Yes, its not personal. Don't worry! The ninja doesnt need to be revved very hard. Most riders tend to do that cos it's fun. Neither do you need to drop gears while overtaking. It has enough torque to overtake without downshifting... unless you want to make a really quick pass. A fact - in the city i have accelerated in 6th gear at 45kmph with absolutely no knocking in the engine.
The GC is also not an issue, so scraping the underside on potholes or speedbreakers is not going to happen unless you plan on off-road riding. Regarding cost of parts, yes, its expensive, thanks to the import duties (if it were localized, the prices would be much lower). So its like comparing apples and oranges if you compare parts of a ninja and the R15.
Some of us (me in particular) are wary of parking in a public place, with few exceptions like bluevolt who even parked in mantri mall on a weekend.
I wonder what makes you think the bike only is a good poser. The ninja is the best selling 250cc bike in the world. Well if the honda was available at the time the ninja was sold i would have bought the honda. Why? I would have got a "sportsbike" and saved some money. I ride sparingly and a bike that is slightly faster wouldnt make me shell out the extra hundred grand rupees. There is a bike that is faster than the one we currently ride but we dont go on upgrading for practical reasons right?
P.S. nothing personal bro.

Actually, there is no comparing the spares price of the Ninja to the R15. It does not make sense at all. Whoever buys the Ninja (or any other expensive bike) has to keep in mind the associated costs.
Comparing two 250cc bikes is fine, in every aspect, but the equation has changed a lot because of the Ninja being imported-that difference will always exist price wise.
I guess we should have a separate discussion only sticking to the bikes, their performance, user friendliness in all scenarios, etc.without bringing the price figure into consideration. As Bluevolt says, its a no-brainer coz as of now, the mere price difference is more than enough for sales figures of the Honda to skyrocket!
But, if the Ninja were manufactured locally, or the CBR also was imported, it would just boil down to a matter of personal choice w.r.t. the bikes' character, as price wise there would be too less of a difference.
I for one would have felt-even if both were coming through the same route, I would still have preferred the Honda, since the torquey feeling will attract me-something different from my current ride!

Surely it will form a new segment of 250 in India soon.....
Ninja,CBR, HG250 and more...
But Honda is much trusted, so will go ahead in sales of Ninja....As it is cheap, Looks great...
CBR will win in sale numbers...!
Aftr launch hav a track test of both, hav a fight then see whose the clear winner...!

A big thumbs down to honda
There is ample excitement, misinformation, nonsense, confusion & what not at http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/154...-show-217.html to prove that the CBR250R will kill the Ninja250R sales in India.
& this when the only price of CBR250R known to all is the booking amount of 5k (& 30k at a dealership somehwere in our country. Maybe this guy did not even get to hear anything from HONDA about the CBR250R, & started accepting bookings just because other dealerships did
). I can only imagine the amount of content that will float on this thread once the price is announced (Its up to HONDA. Even God doesn't know when they will)
Its horrendous that HONDA have started accepting bookings of the bike, without providing written information to dealers (& prospective customers) on the price of the bike (atleast a fair estimate will do). Dealers have been quoting prices ranging from 1.2L ex-showroom to 1.5L ex-showroom for the base version. 30k bucks is a huge sum of money, atleast for me, if not for HONDA & its prosperous dealers.
3 weeks into accepting bookings, its a SHAME that HONDA haven't yet taken the step to formally announce the price. I'm sure they know about the confusion regarding the prices floating around in the market. Afterall, a forum like xBhp will never go unvisited by the sales/marketing guys at HONDA.

Did you go to Honda buddy? They do give the estimate. Its funny that you say this being from xBhp-you have already seen the official communication from the company to the dealers about the prices to be told to customers. They mention the same, universally as ex-showroom prices: non ABS: 1,50,000 and ABS: 1,80,000. Rest is taxes depending on State octroi duties etc.Originally posted by tibby View PostThere is ample excitement, misinformation, nonsense, confusion & what not at http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/154...-show-217.html to prove that the CBR250R will kill the Ninja250R sales in India.

Really!? I guesses I missed it. Can you please share the official communication?Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostDid you go to Honda buddy? They do give the estimate. If it has been given out to dealers, why is it that members have quoted different prices from dealers on the CBR250R thread (link is in my above post)?
& btw, not everyone who buys/books the CBR250R (or any other bike/car for that matter) is on xBhp, or frequents forums online.
For most of them the showroom guys are the source of information. & who better than us to say that they are pretty much uninformed/ misinformed.
Have you booked your CBR250R?

To a large extent i agree. with the days of 2-wheeler finance, one can easily pay 1L ( the money one would shell out for a R15 ) as downpayment and put the rest on EMI.Originally posted by aamiracle View PostI don't think Ninja's Sales will suffer. But R15's sales are surely gonna suffer. Ninja is a pure performance bike and ne1 having the moolah will go for it.
Honda CBR250R is Yamaha R15 killer not a Ninja 250.

Well, yes Cbr250r is gonna sell pretty good, it would be even better if Honda would have brought or will bring (I hope) Cbr150r which is comparatively better than the 250. But Honda knows that and wants to sell 250 and not bring the 150 coz they know that 250 is not gonna sell so much like 150.. I'll tell you why .......: Lets seeOriginally posted by MACH50 View PostNinja 250R is a good bike but over priced...............CBR250R is the right bike with the right price.
Generally,CBR250R would address the needs of most of the population who seeks the 250cc segment for some good performance and big bike feel and it is much more affordable and would cater to a large number of potential customers with strict budget on their mind.People also would want bike which would be refined and does not require excessive revving to get to speeds soon.No one heads for the racetrack daily
Ninja 250R on the other hand is the kind of bike which revs till 11000rpm and may give a true 5-6kmph advantage at top speeds over a CBR250R in stock conditions.Ninja 250R despite being a twin, sports lower torque,so the CBR250R would accelerate at par with the Ninja, with the Ninja returning only2-3kmph more per gear and that too the Ninja250 develops its torque and power both at high rpms which indicates high revving............thus with such mild difference in performance which would be of no meaning to regular users,it would have a hard time to make customers shell out an extra 1.25lacs for itself.
Moreover,Ninja 250R had monopoly previously being the only 250cc vehicle available, now with an excellent and affordable option available in the market, the sales is really gonna take a hit.
Hence my opinion, the only way Ninja 250R sales can avoid take a hit is by bringing down the price by atleast 90,000 INR or 1lac INR.People who love extreme performance would be ready to shell out a few grands more for the Ninja.
CBR250r = 250cc and only 26bhp = less mileage almost same as Ninja which is 33bhp and so obviously cbr is a let down...
CBR150r = 150cc and amazing 19.5bhp
So, we have Cbr250 with 250cc and only 26bhp and still less mileage
we have Cbr150 with 150cc and good 19.5bhp and more mileage
we have ninja250 with 250cc and good 33bhp with same mileage as Cbr250 which is less powerful...
Seriously everyone's gonna buy it,, maybe even me, Y? becoz we don't have a choice, I mean you get what U pay for and you all think ex-showroom that too for base model Rs 1.5lakh is less? well guess wat its a single and only 26PS..don't compare it to ninja
So we're getting fooled again, & this time its Honda..wow which always has less power I don't know why.. lets see R1 vs Fireblade = R1 wins this is just an example.. i want the CBR150R which will beat R15 with 19.5bhp...afterall its all about bhp and mileage...which obviously are opposites.. cbr250r has les bhp compared too al other 250s so we should be getting more mileage, we deserve more mileage thats why the company made this. its not to be compared to the Ninja. and 27kmpl is pathetic with only 26PS, i mean ninja with 33PS gives the same.

I don't think Honda designed CBR250R according to the story you've churned out. I think they designed it to be used in Moto3.Originally posted by coolpras26Well, yes Cbr250r is gonna sell pretty good, it would be even better if Honda would have brought or will bring (I hope) Cbr150r which is comparatively better than the 250. Why don't you follow the Thai forums, according to the forumns most of the CBR250 gives very good mileage between 32 to 35 if you keep her below 120kph, which I believe is very very good. I am not sure how much the Ninja gives at those speeds.Originally posted by coolpras26 View PostWell, yes Cbr250r is gonna sell pretty good, it would be even better if Honda would have brought or will bring (I hope) Cbr150r which is comparatively better than the 250.
