Just reserving my comments for nowOriginally posted by fireblah View PostAnyone seen this vid ?
. But, really appreciate for sharing the video.
Edit - On watching closely, how come 0-100 Kmph is shown in 6.5 seconds while all the reviews show 0-60mph as 8.5
Even in this video, the 102 Kmph appears at the 7th second & the display is shown 0-100 Kmph in 6.5 seconds when the speedo reads 90 Kmph; while the 140 seems to be accurate in 15 seconds; and 160 in 33 seconds.

The reason for the fast times your noticing is that the bike is already moving when the recording starts. its not from 0kmph. seems more like 50/60kmph - 100kmphOriginally posted by aargee View PostJust reserving my comments for now

So going by your logic, it should do a 100 in more than 10secs,Originally posted by R-series View PostThe reason for the fast times your noticing is that the bike is already moving when the recording starts. its not from 0kmph. seems more like 50/60kmph - 100kmph

The video was posted and already has had a heated discussion,
The guy riding the bike is holding the camera in one hand and riding the bike, I agree it could have been a little more clear.
@aargee:- I am not sure if you have seen the post where I have posted GPS speeds, the CBR speedo is pretty optimistic like most of our Indian bikes except maybe the ZMR, true GPS 100 is == to 110 on the CBROriginally posted by aargee View PostJust reserving my comments for now

No I haven't. Tks for the linksOriginally posted by bprags View PostI am not sure if you have seen the post where I have posted GPS speeds
Its the other way I guess; most Japanese motorcycles are well known for boosted speedos & that gene has been planted on to our ZMA/R's, nothing surprisingOriginally posted by bprags View Postthe CBR speedo is pretty optimistic like most of our Indian bikes except maybe the ZMR
Tks for the links. It DOES help & if I'm not wrong, the speedo error is about 10 Kmph. So the top speed should be somewhere around 150's but definitely not 160.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Some where between 150 to 155. Not more than that for sure. I believe more than top speeds, it is more important as to how quickly it gets there, the CBR looks decent I guess.Originally posted by aargee View PostNo I haven't. Tks for the links

Yes, looks are good, which are again subjective. May be, may be, Honda is planning to make it a perfect VFM product in the Asia. Here's what I can think off...Originally posted by bprags View PostSome where between 150 to 155. Not more...decent I guess.
N250R - Excels in...acceleration, top speed & handling & let's keep aside the quality of servicing for now
C250R - Excels in...gas, pricing & features (digital speedo etc) making it more of VFM product. Handling & other things cannot be commented for now, let's keep that aside.
If the N250R don't pounce on me
, I'd probably ask, if N250R tops at 176 Kmph & C250R tops about 155 Kmph, are we paying the additional 1L+ for the extra 20+ Kmph, acceleration & twin headlamps?

If you look at it that way , speaking purely in terms of performance , Wouldn't it be the same as asking , If the CBR tops at 155kph ,the P220 tops at 140kph Am I paying almost 90K more for just 15kph ???Originally posted by aargee View PostYes, looks are good, which are again subjective. Riding/Driving pleasure isnt about the top speed, or twin headlamps !Originally posted by aargee View Postif N250R tops at 176 Kmph & C250R tops about 155 Kmph, are we paying the additional 1L+ for the extra 20+ Kmph, acceleration & twin headlamps?
I would rather do 40kmph all day long on a 458 Italia, than doing 150kmph on Beemer 3 series. The Magician"

^^^ Exactly @Nand; agreed with you on the P220 & C250 comparison too.
I picked up the N250 & C250 for the very fact that, both are international models, both are from Japan, both are compared to death world wide right from Australia to Canada. But P220? Give a thought.
Again guys, I'm not picking up brick & bat, I was just trying to list the difference. The border of comparison & bashing is only a thin line & I hope to stay myself within the line of comparison & comparison only. Given no option, we all love to ride even a XL super; the point being a RIDE & RIDE only!!!Last edited by aargee; 02-10-2011, 12:25 PM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Well it's like comparing who was better in bed. Angelina Jolie or Catherine Zeta Jones. It's personal preferenceOriginally posted by aargee View PostI picked up the N250 & C250 for the very fact that, both are international models, both are from Japan, both are compared to death world wide right from Australia to Canada. But if Rakhi Sawant decides to crash the party, you better have either the CBR or the ninja or the 220 to get the hell outta there real fast.

OMG 458 Italia , beemer 3 Series, Angelina jolie, Zeta ,
..
If only i could afford one of the above mentioned
OT Apart,
If introducing CBR makes Kawasaki and Bajaj revisit their pricing strategy and price the Ninja tad above the CBR, lets say 250Grand i would be more than happy to have the green machine. But surely CBR will eat into Yamaha's and Ninja's market share.Last edited by zerotosixty; 02-10-2011, 02:13 PM.

It won't & you don't have to even think in your wildest dream on itOriginally posted by zerotosixty View PostIf introducing CBR makes...happy to have the green machine.
Too early to comment, but still, this might happen only in cost concious market, Asia for example.Originally posted by zerotosixty View PostBut surely CBR will eat into Yamaha's and Ninja's market share.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Agreed . But if we do continue that comparison on the same lines , I believe we would all end up with the XL super ...Originally posted by aargee View Post^^^ Exactly @Nand; agreed with you on the P220 & C250 comparison too.

So I guess like adi said it all boils down to personal preference , Budget constraints etc .
Which brought me to think , why can't we just leave both the bikes alone ... Both of them have their pro's and con's and until we have a bit more data on the CBR atleast we could hold our horses ... But then again , When there are two superstars there's bound to be comparison .
Tendulkar or Lara
Ferrari or Mclaren
Megan Fox or Scarlett Johansson
and the list would be endless ...
so my POV is that the CBR would take a bit of the NINJA's share of the pie but by no means kill it ...Last edited by nand15; 02-10-2011, 02:46 PM.People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com
