The starter of this thread is Sunny bhaiya........the man who gave birth and nurtured Xbhp, and he had a simple question.

But ever since one CBR thread was locked, this thread became the discussion point for features and gadgets offered on the new Honda rather than posting opinions and answers to the original question.

As far as I know Quarter litre Bikes are learner's Superbikes, hence the question belonged very much here, though the present ongoing discussions may not belong to this thread.

          • As from the review the CBR250R has a 0-60mph timing of 8.5 seconds and 7.7 seconds for the Ninja 250R. A single digit 0-60mph sprint time is 'quick' by any standards and inspite of the Ninja being considerably more powerful the Honda is really quick and quite close to the Baby Kwacker in terms of outright performance. I know the Ninja comes to its own at higher rpm but still keeping Indian conditions in mind i would say the CBR is no slouch as low/mid end torque would be more than adequate with a slight trade off in higher rpm power delivery which shouldn't be a deal breaker for most of us.

            • A fair review, that is what I expected too. The riders are comparing highway speeds on the American roads, where even a bike doing 150 mph will feel slower. For our Indian roads I believe the CBR is just perfect, and let us not forget the 1.2 lakhs difference in India. Let Kawasaki price the Ninja around 2 lakhs and then the CBR will have a real competitor.

For INDIAN conditions CBR fits the bill no doubt.
I believe in mid range and low end it'll be better than the NINJA for sure.
It's only a sec behind to 96kmph, i dont know about the top speed but it should be in the region of 150, that equates to comfy 120-130 kmph cruising too.

Any minus points on An ABS equipped 1.8 lakh CBR250 for indian roads....I'am yet to find one.

                • I believe the bike will do slightly more top end than what has been mentioned in the review, definitely more than 90 mph (144kph), my guess around 155 kph true.

Full throttle, long stretch, it might kiss 155-160.

“I’m not sold on Honda’s linked ABS braking system,” continues Waheed. “One time I made the mistake of jamming on the rear brake as I was making a turn on the side of the road and it felt like the front tire might fold. Not only does the system not work that well, it dumbs down the riding experience. When I ride a bike I want to feel like a motorcycle, not a Honda Civic.”
I didnt went through the whole article, is there any info about how much weight the ABS adds to the package ?

I will go lil' OT here, the HONDA CIVIC with flappy shifters brakes god smackin' violently as compared to its manual sibling.
I dont know is there any diff between the braking mech' of the two cars but there is one hell of a diffrence in braking characteristic.

                        The specs say 5 kilos.

Anything more than 150km/hr(true) should be considered as BONUS!!

The bike wont have sparkling top-end performance and one should also not be expecting it.
