an owner's take on the machine is most-welcomed,your post clears out most of my doubts about hyo.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

The gearing comment is totally bonkers. You don't need innumerable number of gears to go fast. Gearing is determined according to the kind of engine and the kind of riding the bike is intended for.

Just Fyi, my GT250 with a Screaming Demon shorty exhaust does 110 KPH in the third gear. I guess that speaks much about it having only 5 gears.
+1 This is what I was talking about. But still some may get satisfied with that extra(over-drive) gear.

          • Nice to see a very good looking bike from hyosung. The colour schemes are brilliant and it seems to be of very good quality. If the bike comes with ~29 bhp with efi and has a reasonable fit and finish at ~ <2 lakhs it will have many buyers.
If the acceleration is in the range in between the cbr and ninja and the efficiency too,and the vibes are kept under control,I dont see a reason as to why it wont sell well. It's not fair to comment against the quality of fit and finish on this bike until the actual product is released and until we have a comprehensive review done by the experts.
And for those who wish to buy this bike, what can be more satisfying than the owner's opinion itself
Ultimately,as the competition increases it's the customer who benefits and I hope the list of options among all segments just keeps growing

            • Not sure if anyone has noticed this, but the 'GTR' font on the bike is exactly the same as that of our TVS Apache 'RTR', isn't it?

                    • This thread looks like a warzone now

Waiting for the actual launch and the specs.. its been a while i have been hunting for my Upgrade from 220. Was zeroing in on the CBR, thats wen the GT250 came by.

Looking thro the threads, there have been quite some fiery comments on this topic.. but what i felt as wud be a spoiler was the

                      1. Lack of Liquid Cooling -> havent we taken a lot of brick bats for the 220 having only a 'Oil Cooler' ?? forget the comparison.. on few summer rides, i have run into severe engine fatigue after 200 - 300kms of non stop riding... I will have those moments haunt as i try and choose between the CBR nd the GTR..

                      2. Lack of the 6th Gear - well this could be subjective esp. wen we have a Comet Owner stating the the gearing is adequate. But all the 250s out there have it, some of the 150s have it. so Y not ? personally, I have always felt that the 220 itself was 1 gear short, a zillion time i would have tried to upshift while i was already on top gear!

But, i guess should this can be overlooked if the gear ratios are really well sorted out.

                      3. EFI - Technologically backward yes, but dont think this will make a big difference in choosing.. its something that i or most can live without, considering its lowering the cost a bit.

None of the above assumptions can be proved right or wrong without actually riding the bike ... will have to wait for the bike to be available for test rides

Lack of Liquid cooling- even my GS150R lacks it and it is only air-cooled but I comfortably do 500kms in 6 hours non-stop without feeling the need of it, cruising at 100-105kmph.(even Ducati Monster 796 isn't liquid cooled ).

Lack of the 6th Gear- well, this one is a real lack I would say, having an overdrive 6th gear proves to be an absolute comfort while cruising at triple digits, with only five gears-the bike will always pull ........well even that gets habituated
