Nice write up Satya. Loved reading it. I find gear shift to be a bit notchy while engaging first gear. All remaining gears are smooth and torque spread is amazing.

Rode the bike with the windscreen. There is a big change. One can maintain high speed for a longer time. I was at 160 for quite a long time. Did 186 kmph top. The experience was much better than before!
Actually after riding a ZX14R everything feels slow

This bike has steel frame instead of twin spar aluminium like the sportsbikes. Other than cost cutting and big weight, this makes the bike quite robust on the road.
I have no idea but how much weight could have been reduced had they used twin spar aluminium frame? Is it very expensive?

          Did you try redlining?

I am planning to buy powerful horns. Any advice please? I would like to use original wiring harness.

BTW what is Shinobi Nice name though.

            .
But, would that require a battery change. Since it might draw more juice out of the battery,

My guess is they could have saved 20kg if they could use twin spar frame.
              No redlining.

Shinobi is another name for Ninja warriors from Japan.

Karthik , still at hospital seeing patients . Came home early for puja and first made my wife to start the bike , took a round of my apartment , next my wife and then my son . After that my daughter . Now I took the bike around Taylors road for about 2 km and actually felt like a toy . Everything was easy esp that I was warned about the brakes . Will come back and explain

Read the same in the street triple owner ship thread of hifisharu. Anyway congrats.
I have applied for one loan in IDBI and waiting for a confirmation.
Still to decide on the bike ST or Z800

If you dont mind the bug head lamps(it either u love it or hate it) and the irritating triple s whine but awesome rideability thats nimble in the city for for ST. Ok the people at Triumph Chennai are nothing short of spectacular , they let me ride each bike for two full weekends and they would give any number of times for a test ride , but luckily for me my friend gave a spin on the Kawa with after market exhaust and i was sold completely , but look i would ride less than 100 km a week max and occasional ride out of town not exceeding 100 km distance. If your criteria is like mine go for Kawasaki but if u will be extensively using in town , you must consider the ST seriously .(but u must get to like the bug head lamp and the sound). Ok Mileage my friend rides hard in around town and gets 16 kmpl
Thanks for helping. 16 is for ST / Z800

Ok gentlemen; heres from a 55yr old doctor after the first ride of 45 km. First thing i did was to get a 10 litre can full of speed 97 and filled the tank .The clutch and brake cables felt very normal and light to me( ive never ridden any bike smaller than RD 350 and yezdi in 12th). I rode from my house in kilpauk to T Nagar to my swamiji s place. From there i entered the very busy Mount Road. My temp was between 96-100 c and for a few seconds touched 101 c. I saw to that i never crossed 4k rpm all the way to airport . I chose this road so that i could vary my engine speed from 2000-4000 rpm , never lugged the engine . the brake lever ( at least in my bike was not angulated by a trained mechanic ) Ideally it should be continuos with the forearm to throttle angle . This guy had set it like the olden day vespa scooter with the lever looking slightly upwards -) which i will set right tommorow my self. I wanted to reach inner ring road and come back home that way. I saw distant lightning and wasnt wearing any rain gear so i returned back from the airport. Entire journed incl stop took about an hour and a half. I had my son as pillion and little did i feel i was riding a superbike , engine is very smooth, u just hear a humm and a deep humm. I think at 4 k in 6th gear we were doing 80 ish. I was trying to bed in my gear box and rear brake and also front break (applying clutch). I never felt in the least bit tired , of course i quickly found the zone of comfort in the riding position, I see a lot of guys riding a superbike, holding the handle bar with a straight elbow ( Arnold Schwarzenneger style) and soon developing wrist pain -) not knowing the elbows should be relaxed while riding. My son had no complaints after the 90 minute ride as well. Overall a very aggressive looking bike ( not suitable for a beginner) having 9.8 ft turning radius which is similar to FZ1 .Pretty comfortable for upto ( i guess) 150 km ride (might need handle bar riser if u are riding for more than 300km . Clutch is butter smooth , the headlights are adequate for upto 80 kmph ( i havent gone beyond that ) and no i never felt it was heavy .Im 5 ft 10 inch so i can plant both my feet on the ground. The torque of the bike has been so developed that u enjoy the pull from the word go which i know becomes explosive beyond 7k rpm. I think its ideal motorcycle for india ( for those who ever can afford it without having to pay a 100 % duty for a cbu) esp bike lovers like me . I have no hesitation in recommending this bike over the Street Triple ( this is purely my opinion to say something against the best in class bike) .The first gear of the street can be quite irritating in stop and go traffic, the triple s whistle you have to live with and bug head lights which u either can love it or hate it.( i found the bug head lamps unimpressive). In difficult traffic ive ridden both and for me Z800 wins hands down bcos of the tall first gear of the striple and sometimes u can stall -)
